Feeler: 2002 Golf TDI GLS 75K mi San Diego

I am trying to get an idea of what my 2002 Golf TDI GLS 4 door is worth, here are some specs:
Original owner
Manual transmission
75,000mi
All maintenance records (work mostly done at City VW here in San Diego)
Reflex silver exterior
Black cloth interior
Sunroof
2 newer tires (less than 10k mi old)
Rear brakes recently done
Oil changes every 5K mi with synthetic
One accident, body work done at dealership

TB hasn't been done yet, but it's coming up quick.

I did a quick feeler the other day on craigslist and had a few people bite at $10,000.

I am selling it because I want to get a JSW.

So you say that you got a few bites, did they offer your asking price?

Your car is slightly higher than I was looking to spend, but given the condition, history and low mileage I may reconsider.

In my recent search it seems that a car like yours sells between 9k-13k. The latter generally stays on the market for a while.

I could show it to you on Sunday if you'd like? The potential buyers who responded (only left the ad up for 6 hours) mostly seemed ok with the 10K price tag. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to see the car go, but now I am leaning towards selling it.

If you want top dollar, spend the money and to the TB/WP/SERP, otherwise be ready to deal with someone that actually shows up with cash. If you want premium dollar, the car should need nothing, come with a stack of records and not smell funky.

CL is loaded with time wasters, tire kickers, grinders and the like. DOnt get your hopes up on the value of your vehicle based on CL responses. Did anyone rush over and give you 10k?

Not trying to harsh your gig, just giving some perspective. Good luck with your possible sale. Let us know what you actually get should you sell.

First you listed for $10k then you pull the ad. then u list it for $11k. The car has been in a accident and needs T/M. seems like the car is over priced.

I appreciate your feedback, I put out the feeler at 10K and that's what I'm looking to get out of it, yes, I am going to ask a little bit higher because the car is in great shape and I had lots of responses at 10k, so that seemed like a reasonable price. As far as the accident goes, it did have a fender bender at under 5mph, the carfax report doesn't show it, so that's just me being honest. It needs a timing belt in 6000mi, so I'm certainly not going to replace it right now, but I contacted one of the traveling mechanics in So Cal from this forum and I have a good idea of what it would cost for the right buyer.
