Fan blower / resistor replacement brand recommendations 2003 VW Jetta TDI ....

Need to replace my resistor / blower for the fan defroster / heater. OEM very expensive. What other brands have you used and would recommend ? TIA

There are just too many to list....
I'd replace the blower, too. That is often why the resistor died in the first place.

As far as brands, Valeo is the OEM. Some of the Behr/Hella brand replacement stuff is generally decent.

Thanks Oilhammer. Yes, I am planning on replacing the motor at the same time. Both 20 years old with 353,000 miles on them.

I have a new one that's been on the shelf since about 2009 or 10. I paid over $40 for it. Back at that time, strangely, I installed two of them for my VW friends. On that basis, I assumed I'd be seeing a need for one in the not too distant future .. not so.

Anyway, here is one I put in watch months ago when the price was actually a bit higher ... Likely made in China.
