Due to circumstances in my life, I no longer wish to work on my TDI. The engine runs, but the transmission (O1M) slips a little, and the engine bay wiring needs attention due to corrosion. It also needs a starter, ground cable, and front wheel speed sensors (they will be in a box). Despite these issues, the engine runs great and has an 11 mm pump and an upgraded turbo.
It will come with all the spare parts I have for this platform, including a new downpipe, oil filters, rotors, pads, and so on.
You will need to bring a trailer and tow it. Some work will be required before it will run for you.
The only reason I am posting it here first is so someone from the community can benefit from it before it gets donated then sell all the remaining parts for $500.
Bottom line, this car owes me nothing and, at a minimum, will make a great parts car.
With all that said, I will not entertain twenty questions. It is being sold as is, and I have the title in hand.
Q. Will this car start up at -22F on the first Glow plug cycle?
A. Provided it has winter diesel in the tank, yes. Otherwise, you will need to deal with gelling issues.
Q. How many extra parts are we really talking or is it just junk?
A. I don't save junk. At a minimum, an entire trunk full. It does have a set of winterwheels with servicable winter tires that will come with everything. That will make it more than a trunk full if you take them too. I do recommend that you bring a truck with your trailer.
Q. Why don't you just fix it if you have all of the parts?
A. Because I don't want to. I have 6 vehicles now and I have had my fun with this one. It went through a major Maintenace cycle last fall which included all brand-new steering components, i.e. steering rack, PS pump, lines, ball joints, A-arms, etc.
Q. How long have you owned the vehicle?
A. roughly 10 years.
Q. How old is the tires
A. Roughly 2 years with 3/4 of the tread left. Also comes with winter tires.
Q. Does it have a lift.
A. Yes 2 inches
Q. What do you mean by "the transmission slips a little"
A. It slips a bit when shifting 2 to 3. If I had to guess, it needs the band adjusted.
Q. What type of turbo does it have
A. VNT 17/22 hybrid
Q. What type of nozzles does it have
A. Bosio 520s
Q What size pump does it have
A. 11mm
Q. Does the motor have studs
A. Yes Whitbread head studs
Q. What are the circumstances why you are getting rid of the Car
A. I have enough toys and I no longer want to tinker with it.
Q. How many keys does it come with?
A. 2, and I have the SIK code to make more with a rosstech
Q. Does it have an aftermarket radio
A. Yes. It has a cheap Boss Radio from Crutchfield. It does have bluetooth
