The History.
I purchased this Jetta used in 2005. It was used for my wifes employment since she was a merchandiser and traveled from store to store. This saved us money based on the fuel mileage it obtained and the fact that we could also use it as a tax write off.
Late in 2009 an injector stuck open and melted a piston.Since I am a diesel mechanic I decided to rebuild the engine. After checking prices on OEM parts and knowing that they are inferior parts I decided to upgrade anywhere I could. The following is a synopsis of the rebuild and the parts used.
The block was hot tanked, bored and honed 5mm (0.020)oversized.{$310.00}. Installed Nural HD +5mm pistons along with IE rods, ARP hardware,{$1030.00}. Kolbenschmidt std rod and
main bearings.{$115.00}
The original flywheel was replaced with a Corrado single mass flywheel and a Sachs VR6 clutch kit {$360.00}.
The cylinder head was cleaned, resurfaced .005",pressure tested. Complete valve job with new intake, exhaust valves, and new valve guides.{$540.00}.
Installed 100,000 mile timing belt kit including metal impeller water pump. {$380.00}.
Metalnerd Timing belt installation tools.{$230.00}.
Turbo was sent out to have rotating parts balanced and rebuilt with new bearings and seals.{$190.00}.
Injectors were rebuilt at the time using Bosio Sprint 520 (non DLC) 110 HP nozzles.{$400.00}
(NOTE) Had injectors rebuilt a 2nd time recently (see above) using upgraded DLC nozzles.
Misc. parts {$380.00}
VCDS Vagcom{$300.00}
Total $4235.00 in parts for engine rebuild including timing tools and VCDS.
60,000 miles since rebuild. Runs excellent. Fun to drive!
Current issues with the car are abs and airbag lights on.See Below.
1 Fault Found:
00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46)
35-00 - -
1 Fault Found:
01218 - Side Airbag Igniter; Passenger Side (N200)
32-10 - Resistance Too High - Intermittent.
Car is mechanically turnkey. Cosmetically it can use some body work and a paint job.Clear coat peeling. Interior can use a refresh. No rust. Speakers need replacing. Same with ant. Use it for an everyday driver, or mod it out. Sleeper???
Asking $2,400.00 which includes VCDS, Timing tools and Key programming software.
