Quick question on the pierburg exhaust valve part number 1K0253691G in a CKRA

Can anyone tell me if the spring on the exhaust valve should open the valve completely when its not activated? Or, does it require the motor
to run in reverse to open it? Seeing there is a spring on the shaft, I am thinking it should go to full open on its own, but that's just a guess.

Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

Not sure if you’re interested but I have my exhaust valve from deleting my CKRA passat. LMK if you want it.

I have the full exhaust (ex. DPF) for sale at $600 but I’m not totally sure how I’d ship the long tube with the cats on it.

This is a low-mile setup taken off a junkyard passat and put on mine before I deleted it.

I was able to free up my exhaust valve with penetrating oil. Most likely that will end up being a temporary fix.
I don't have much use for a complete system, but possibly the DPF filter & the flipper valve. the turbo grenaded & sent oil into
the intercooler & exhaust. Not sure yet how much damage that might have done to the DPF. I guess I need to wait until the next regen & so where the pressures are at. Yours is a 2014?

Yep. 2014… When my turbo blew- I thankfully stopped the engine before more than a cup of oil was as the bottom of the intercooler. A hybrid turbo + a delete kit came as precautionary and fun replacements

yeah valve is 100% open under normal spring pressure, anything that keeps it slightly askew is a mechanical linkage issue.

Mine got stuck probably over 100000 km ago, i v had to free it up a few times but still works good. I usually check it when i do my oil changes and open it up as needed. That is on Cvca engine though
