Yup, the told me the EXACT same thing. I was still in disbelief when I ordered it. I kept asking why it was the same part number when the switches are different. I felt they made it sound like it was an error on their website and to put in the notes to make sure it was for the sedan. I just wish they got back to me today. Waiting until Monday.

Looking at the fog lights on the Golf - completely different. I was sitting in traffic kind of studying the front end on a Golf TDI next to me and the foglights look like individual housings - just like the picture for the Golf foglights on OEMPlus's website. Just looking at my front end on the Jetta sedan (I have fogs) looks like it needs the whole lower grill insert if you wanted to get fogs. I am not entirely sure you could do it without the chrome trim that come on the TDI w/Nav and SEL's for that lower grill insert. I'll see if I can post a pic to what I am referring to and then you can cross reference to the Golf front end. All in all, that kit won't work on the 2011 Jetta sedan.

Maybe we need to go into business together to sell mods to people with the 2011 Jetta sedan. :D

You can see what I am talking about here.

Hard to see in the pic, but the foglight housing/lower grill is all one piece. I am not sure if it is separated by the chrome trim.

FYI: Its not one piece. there are three parts down there as far as shrouds go. The center part grill, and the two fog light covers.

There looks to be some special tool to remove the fog light covers without removing the bumper. For me it was easier to just remove the bumper so that I did not break anything.

Take a look...

Under the fog light you can see the spot for some sort of tool to release the cover. TAKE MY ADVICE, DO NOT TRY AND REMOVE THE FOG LIGHT COVER FROM THE FRONT. YOU WILL BREAK THE CLIP. Its hard to explain, but its almost like its hooked on to the bumper, removing it from the front of the bumper will defiantly break it that hook and the cover will not go back on.

The Second arrow near the chrome shows the tab that tucks behind the grill to the right.

Thanks ~Jb! It's amazing how much light helps! I was looking last night in the dark with the light from the garage door opener (although front of car was facing away front the light) and couldn't see that seam. What is wrong with me not using a flashlight.:D I'll learn eventually.

By the way, did you take out the orange reflector in the headlight housings? Or are the still there? I can't see them in the pic.

The orange reflector is still there, I just over exposed the photo to show detail.

I wanna attack the headlights, paint and retrofit, but I wont do it till I can by an extra set. :)

Maybe I will try doing this.

I would love to get the euro headlights - they look so clean without the orange reflector. Maybe that can just come out, but like you don't want to mess anything up without having spares. Euro tails would be nice too with the amber blinker. They also don't seem too expensive from OEMPlus, if they are what they are

. I kinda just wish that was the way they came. Dang Americans doing solid colors for the taillights - they look good on the older cars - couldn't imagine my Fairlane with an amber blinker, but let's bring amber rear turn signals on the newer cars. :)

Will that process work on plastic? That DIY looks like the door handles are metal. If you tried that on the switch know would it just flake off or show black plastic I wonder? I would imagine there has to be a way to remove the old switch knob. maybe I will tear apart my stock switch one day and figure it out.

Me Personally I like the all red lights. I will spring for the GLI dark cherry lights when they become available and I have some pretty sweet LED ideas for the rear lights, again just need an extra set to rip apart and experiment with.

Good question about that - touching the chrome trim doesn't feel like plastic. I could be wrong, but seems like metal. Guess I'll find out. I took the switch I bought all the way apart in two pieces but the knob still seems stuck to the headlight switch shaft. Just about couldn't get it back together. Maybe I just need to pull harder on the headlight knob.

Anyways, since my dad is headed to Germany, I might see if he can pick me up a switch for either the Jetta or the Polo - doing my research now but it seems like the Polo comes with brushed chrome. I know - being way to OCD about this. I like mods, but also want don't want the mods to stick out unless that was the intention.

And yes, those dark cherry GLI tails will look pretty good!

For those that are interested-

I did more searching and think that I found the right switch with the brushed chrome knob.

http://www.tmtuning.com/HOME/catalog/product_detail.php?default_product=2596

I recall someone writing (might have been in this thread) about a website that showed the newest Polo utilizing the Mk4 Jetta electrics. I unfortunately didn't read that website clearly as there were part numbers that should work perfectly in our cars and match! Didn't realize that the Polo utilizes the brushed chrome knob like our Jetta's. I ordered the Mk4 switch from parts4euro and while it does work it is shiny like ~Jb said it would be. So, I have an email out to tmtuning about the switch. Here is that info again -

http://www.users.on.net/~graeme86/pololite/pololite.html

And a thread on it from vwvortex -

Yes it will. They wrote me back and said it will work. I think the black trim around the switch is also darker and should match better as well. The one I picked up seems like it has more gray. I'll try to take a side by side shot.

TMTuning also has an Auto function one as well. It will not give us an Auto function but possibly allow the switch to stay in that position if so desired and lights go on/off with ignition. Still researching this though.

Shipping will also be expensive, but like you I think it will be worth it.

Sounds like me, I also sent an email to TMTuning to see if the response is the same as yours before I drop ~$90 on a switch that will take 2 weeks to get here. As far as the price, its worth the extra money to have a switch that looks like it belongs with the car and matches as close as possible. I'm trying to stay as OEM as possible on my Jetta, I've got Pedals and Door sills on the way too.

Warning about TM tuning. I ordered some of the Under-seat Drawers from them on march 30 and they are still not here. Just a heads up really. Im guessing the boxes are caught in customs or something.

Ok thanks, I've had that happen to me three times from US Sellers.
Either they didn't ship it, tried to steal my money or had a "computer crash".
After I hear back from the price after shipping I'll probably ship with Air Plus, not Standard Air.

my OEM euro switch is acting up after only 3 years - the fog light icon flashes on and off and then stays off (though my fogs are still on). so, i am going to look at the cheap knock-off switches, cause even if they only work for a year i'd still save money

Maybe the LED is loose on the circuit board?

The cheap one I got isn't a knockoff - it looks pretty genuine - has the LK symbol along with the Audi and VW logo. Someone told me it is probably off a Chinese market Passat because of the shiny chrome.

Just an update about my drawers. I got them finally yesterday. They came shipped from place in PA here in the states. Must have a distribution spot there to make shipping easier.

Just wanted to let you know.
