Morning guys,

Has anyone used aftermarket engine mounts(URO, etc)? I havent found too much info on the aftermarket side. OEM mounts in Toronto area(with a discount from Audi) are still in the $1500 range for the pair, plus labour, etc.

Is it justifiable to spend such a large difference in OEM versus aftermarket mounts($400ish range)?

There are just too many to list....
Most anything that has the 'Uro' brand is Chinese junk.

That's an expensive car. It has expensive parts. Corteco or one of the ZF brands is likely who makes the mounts. They may (almost certainly are) available in the aftermarket for less than a dealer price.

I wouldn't be surprised if the OEM mounts are made in China also.

They are most likely made in Poland, Czech Rep., Romania, Great Britain, France, Turkey, or somewhere else in Europe if they are not from Germany. The A6 is still a model that has largely been able to dodge much of the Chinese stuff from OEM, aside from the parts on the cars that are actually made there.

Part of the high cost (and thus high failure rate) of those mounts is that they are active ones with a little electronic valve inside that changes the way the internal fluid moves.
