Engine Knock at 80 mph

Has anyone noticed any kind of engine knock/noise starting at around 76-80 mph? I noticed a loud noise last night when I was driving home, and it sustained for a prolonged period of time. As I got back around 65 mph it disappeared.

2012 Passat TDI SEL Premium - 10,500 miles.

You're the first to report this, so don't drive 80 MPH (kidding). Schedule a test drive with a dealer service technician (not the service writer). Regardless, you want this symptom documented early.

I don't think this is "knock" which is defined as pre-ignition of fuel. It is some other problem.

Can you post a video of this sound while it's happening? I'm guessing it's something buffeting in the wind or perhaps suspension related.

My initial thought was a belly pan that's not properly clipped.

Wonder if this started shortly after the 10,000 mile oil change by VW?

Try shifting in to 5th and see if it's rpm related or suspension lug bolt or bearing type thing.

I do between 80-90 daily for no less than 40-50 miles and haven't heard anything at all. Definitely get it checked out. Good luck!
