Soooo what gizmo is in forward of the front right fender liner? And is it ok/normal for it to have a light exterior coating of oil after 150k?

Thanks

Do you mean the intercooler? The only oil on it should be from the road. Certainly if you have something leaking in the engine it can get anywhere.

I guess that must be it. I’m assuming using regular engine cleaner is ok? But something like simple green and hot water is better?

Simple Green should be fine.

Just FYI, I'd advise against using a pressure washer. The high pressure could damage the fins in the intercooler. Not sure if you were planning to do that, but I wanted to mention it.

BT,

Yeah I have some horse hair brushes. Thinking that and a bucket of hot water should do the trick. Had a incident that involved driving over 8 oversized road cones. Since I’m replacing the fender liners, engine cover, belly pan etc I figure I should get in there and clean it.

thanks again

Brian
