Did you get my email mate? would have loved to come for a passenger ride but was in Cornwall with the missus Friday! Did 1000miles in the Jetta BKD averaging 57mpg with the GTB2260vk on there!!
I like the sound of that mpg even with the 2260, I've been eyeing up a few bkd golfs at the moment. How much power is it making?

Not took it to the RR yet, but I would be surprised if it did less than 230bhp.

Theres some cheap 2.0 Golfs and Jettas around at the moment, my bro bought one for his mrs, 2005 Golf GT TDI w 116k, just had 4 new tyres, new turbo and clutch/flywheel 10k ago, stands him at less than £4k. A lot of car for the money.

Thats exactly what I'm looking for really, although the 3 doors seem to be attracting a bit more of a premium. Nothing drastically more though.

Yeah the one he got was a 3 Door. They are a bit more, but should still be worth more when you come to sell it.

When you get one we will have to sort it out for you ;)

Time for a few upgrades..

Since putting in the bigger injectors and now running pretty much two bar of boost pressure now my charge cooler is struggling to keep the intake temps down. So this morning I decided to strip the back of the car off and get an intercooler my friend had lying around from when he used to convert Elises with 1.8t engines.

The plan is to use both the chargecooler and the intercooler. The chargecooler will remove the majority of the heat and the intercooler will remove more after and wont be effected by heat soak etc.

Hopefully after lots of cleaning up and several improvements over the next week it will go a bit better. Hopefully it will be smoother as I am concentrating on trying to reduce vibration, rattles and intake noise.

Here is a video of it on the dyno before i fitted the ASZ / ARL injectors..

Hi, yes it rips

It is more than a match for Lotus Exiges with factory supercharged toyota engines..

It really upsets people

Next plan is a 2.0 bkd, big injectors, bmw (borg warner) 535d twin turbos and DSG gearbox.

I have been getting better with the mapping and now have it revving really very well..

The nicest thing I can say: **I WANT YOUR CAR** ;-)

Seriously, congratulations. If any automaker starts making something like this, the whole perception of diesels will be forever changed. To think that you can drive there at 45 MPG, win the race (at 10 MPG), then drive home again - awesome!

With your current setup, what's redline and what rev range are you using when racing?

Thanks Mark,

it gets pretty much 20mpg (uk gallon) on track and I would guess easily 70mpg on a run.

It is coming on boost from 2500rpm and revs cleanly to 5500rpm I have the highest ratio gearbox I could find from a VW Caddy tdi.

I only mapped it in a quick drive the day before because i had to setup the N75 map for the new turbo hence if you look at the wideband output on the gauge it is still running quite lean during most of the rev range.
