Has anyone gotten past the "determining you eligibility" portion of the process yet?
no, no one has gotten past this.Has anyone gotten past the "determining you eligibility" portion of the process yet?
I was reading somewhere, that VW is accepting, but another 3rd party is "determining eligibility" I'm assuming a DMV style specialist, who can verify things on titles.nope. While i understand why they did this as a 2 step process, they could have accepted and determined at the same time.
SO they're going to call every current or previous bank to verify the titles uploaded on the site? That's a hell of a job,I was reading somewhere, that VW is accepting, but another 3rd party is "determining eligibility" I'm assuming a DMV style specialist, who can verify things on titles.
Most things are electronic these days.SO they're going to call every current or previous bank to verify the titles uploaded on the site? That's a hell of a job,
Well yes, but the judge took an extra week to approve everything, so there have been some delays that were out of Volkswagen's control.Be interesting to see when people starting getting notifications, especially since VW said that buybacks would begin THIS month!
I guess they've also got to get payoff numbers on these to be able to present you with a final offer. I assume they've also got to get that payoff info for the various dropoff/buyback dates that they will give you in your final offer. Sounds like a pain in the butt.SO they're going to call every current or previous bank to verify the titles uploaded on the site? That's a hell of a job,
They won't need payoff quotes until turn-in appointments are scheduled. Payoff quotes usually expire after 10 days.I guess they've also got to get payoff numbers on these to be able to present you with a final offer. No, it is counterproductive to establishing a new image to delay.anyone else feel that these bastards are going to wait until the last minute to approve claims?
If you own the car without a lien, they also ask for the title.Uhhh you guys keep saying title, but it's registration they need not the title.
I don't think so as the last thing that VW wants to do is PO the judge.anyone else feel that these bastards are going to wait until the last minute to approve claims?
You couldn't be more wrong. The certificate of title is the single document that provides proof of ownership and is required in writing on VWAG's website.Uhhh you guys keep saying title, but it's registration they need not the title.
Those of us with a lien don't have the title, though. You couldn't be more wrong. The certificate of title is the single document that provides proof of ownership and is required in writing on VWAG's website.
This isn't right either. As Mr. Furious notes, in many (most?) states, owners with liens don't have the titles, as the titles are held by the lienholders. If you say there's a lien, the site doesn't ask for a copy of the title. You couldn't be more wrong. Exactly, in my case it asked for "[p]roof of Government Issued Vehicle Registration," so I uploaded a scan of my (state) government issued vehicle registration. This isn't right either. Yup! I got the same thing yesterday. I was hoping it was my offer but it was not. I guess it was a document for those folks who are not informed.Did anybody else get a nice pretty document from vw recently? I got two today. It got my hopes up, but it was basically a screen shot of the settlement website. Just a waste of paper to tell me that the judge approved the settlement.
No I do not believe this situation should incur additional compensation. This is a issue about a car and it is non-life threatening and should not cause mental anguish. PITA? Sure. But it is not the end of the world and it should not scar you for life. If this situation puts a household on the rocks then there are some other bigger problems that need to be dealt with.I know ths is sore subject but look at the tone of the comments on this subject. Anyone else think we should be getting additional compensation for the anguish/personal disruption this is causing? I'll bet this puts more than one household on the rocks along with all the politics and crime going on right now.
I'd say that if Volkswagen drags out the process to the point that they incur penalties from the government then there should be some additional restitution paid to owners for their inconvenience (though that surely wouldn't be the case - the government will get theirs and thus be satisfied). If what they're doing sucks but falls within the terms of the agreement, though, then that's a different matter. No I do not believe this situation should incur additional compensation. I got the same thing today. Got my hopes up, as I thought it might have been my buyback package when I first cracked the mailbox open. ...the wait continues.Did anybody else get a nice pretty document from vw recently?
