Electrical problem MK4

Hi all, I blew the 12V outlet (front) fuse in yesterday. Replaced it but outlet still has no power. Pulled out the fuse again and checked with a voltmeter, not even power in the fuse panel. Any ideas how to fix this? Is there a hidden fuse somewhere else?
Have similar issue with 1998 TDI. Any help greatly appreciated!

Check the fuses on top of battery.

Totally forgot about this post. I did check the fuses on top of the battery, they're all good. Guy at a shop told me yesterday that sometimes the metal in the back of the fuse box melts!? That'd be crazy...

While yours fuse blew and after replacing the front cigratte liter still does not work, mine has not been working since I got the car new. I have'nt seen solution on what is wrong in this site.
