Welcome to the forums. Please ignore me as I'm clueless and harsh.... that being said....

Replace. No reason to not. The old days we deleted it for reasons that do not exist now. Low sulfur diesel means nearly no cokeing any more at the intake. It's good for warmups and honestly if you camt afford $1200 for the job from a shop's either diy or take the bus.......

I have a VW Jetta MK5 from 2006 with the BXE engine.
My mechanic said that my EGR valve needs to be replaced or deleted.
I am good at programming, so I am thinking about deleting from ECU because the replacing is expensive.
Physically what modifications need to be applied after the delete? It's enough to apply blocking plates ?
One of my friend said that he also needed to make modifications with the crankcase gas ventilation system. Is it true?
