Egr or something else

Hi all I'm new to this I've recently been having problems with my car starting but if I unplug my egr valve it starts and runs fine is the egr the culprit or could it be something else it's a Citroen 1.4 HDI thanks for reading.

there's a throttle flap inside the EGR body too, sounds like it's the faulty bit. When working correctly you'll hear two tiny motors running and a few clicks, just after you turn the engine off, as both valves re-set.

Hey thanks dpm just started the car and didn't hear nothing so I've ordered a new egr. Can I ask you would this also bring up anti pollution fault cheers mate
