ECU Question

I guess this question will sound uniformed, but here goes.
I have a 2002 Beetle ALH with an automatic. I want to swap it to a manual. I’d the engine ECU able to be retained or must I also find a manual ECU for the conversion?

Ecu is the same. Trans choice can be altered with vcds, auto trans controller is separate and you delete that

Jmodge, that’s great news! I was trying to over think things, I guess. I was stressing for nothing!

When I did mine I used a tutorial that was compiled from member “Boertje”, very informative and explains the wiring also
