I think there may be some confusion in semantics.
My guess is that the marketing "gurus" at "OBDeleven" thought they were being oh-so-clever: ("So, the diagnostic port is an OBDII port...with that Roman numeral "2", after the OBD...hey why don't we name our product OBDeleven - get it? "11" looks like "II", and actually, is even indistinguishable in some fonts - oh my, we are GENIUSES!!!"
Disregarding, of course, that many customers and users would reference it as "OBD11", which would look like OBDII to many people and thus be written as such....

It's all fine and good to be cutesy and clever, but when gets in the way of communication....ugh.

What about when the easy-to-use apps make un-logged changes in your coding? What's their plan for that, haha.
