Why does RC rocks?, judge it for yourself, not really big numbers but I am damned pleased with the results and please no tuning wars on this post.

This is a dyno on 2008 at the GTG in Dublin, last time I got 196 HP, having issues with a boost leak, boosting only 22psi. LCD dyno shop was not doing TQ values at this TDI gtg.

Yesterday I dynoed my car again, making only 3 changes from last dyno 2008, I added a big euro R32 snorkel,260 deg. dbilas cam, and boostin was at 26, no boost leaks this time,, LCD was able to do TQ values in the rest of the TDI-cars, but somehow in my car they were not able to figure out how to hook the optical TQ device, so to my dissapointment I was not able to get my TQ, I went to this dyno espcifically to get my TQ, and did not get it, if anybody could figure it out please chime in thanks.

100 mph should = 4700
90 = 4230
80 = 3760
70 = 3290
60 = 2820
50 = 2350
40 = 1880

So, you're making 135hp at 50 MPh , or 135 @ 2350.

135 x 5252 = 709020
709020 / 2350 = 301 ft.lbs of torque at 2350rpms.

Nice.

My buddy Tom got 170HP and 344 ft.TQ, nice numbers, Pierre got good numbers as well I believe it was 173HP- 330 ft.TQ, and also Nick did great with his tuned VNT-15,,

LCD dynoed a total of 4 TDI cars yesterday we all got good numbers, they were impressed how these TDI engine were able to put out such a high # on the TQ.,, too bad they were not able to figure out my TQ.

LCD promised that they will do another dyno to my car with the TQ #, so when I go back I would like to try the R-520's 5 holes, if anyone has some used one that I could buy from pls. pm me. so then I would be able to make a comparasion between the 502's and R520's.

Do all cars that make make 135 HP @ 2350 have 300 ft/lbs TQ?
Yep.

Horsepower = Tq x RPMs / 5252
or
Torque x RPMs / 5252 = Horsepower.
move the 5252 to the other side
Tq x RPM = HP x 5252
add in the known horsepower
Tq x 2350 = 135 x 5252
multiply the horsepower by 5252
Tq x 2350 = 709020
now bring the known rpms over to the other side
Tq = 709020 / 2350
and we're left with
Tq = 301.71

Thanks Justin, your car got to be way up in HP, you need to dyno yours with the vnt20, I 'd like to see the results now that you have a real tune.

Robert, I'm curious if you have any suggestions as to why your car has SOOOOO much more hp than the other ALH's at the dyno with you. At least a couple of them have 502's, 11mm, 17/22, exhaust, etc... What on your car is making the 35 extra ponies? Whatever it is, it's very impressive. Highest ALH dyno non-nos besides Jeff's himself in the states!

i think he's got a bigger IC for one. he also was running stock tires which will yield more HP than bigger, heavier 18" wheels with wide tires. not sure how much but it does help. i don't expect that to make up the all the difference though but it will account for some.

that car sounds great on the dyno!

Yes, he has an FMIC and the others in the run have upgraded SMIC's. He also has huge 2.5" FMIC piping whereas the others have stock ALH side piping. I guess I could see that adding a bit. Plus the RC6 over the RC5 tuning. The cam and a well put together engine have to make up the rest I suppose.

Before I started to mod my Golf, I tested 3 different ALH cars that I owned to find out which one was the strongest and fastest, I did three different runs in each car(all stock) really hard pulls,, and I found out that the Golf was a lot faster and stronger than the other 2, NB and a Jetta, so i decided to lay everything on the Golf, I am pretty sure that if i had gone with either the NB or the Jetta , I would probably not have the same results.this car has been strong from the get go.

This is how I'll buy my next new car. Keep driving them till I find one that performs the best with a g-tech. LOL

Well that's freakin' sweet! Good luck with your future mods. What's next, the 225 barrier?

Nick, I am running 75% water and 25% meth., and for those asking about the difference about RC5 and RC6, it is just the RPM limitter, RC5 will get you 5k-RPMS, AND RC6 6K-RPMS, and the 2 times that I have done the dyno in this car I have asked them not to go past 5K-rpms, so I am pretty sure that if I had RC5 in my car and if I had dynoed it, it would have probably given me the same results, the power is pretty much the same with RC5 and RC6.

Phil my next move is to do a tear down, from there I do not know which direction I will be heading, I would hate to port my head, I know I will lose the air swirl and my flat line at the dyno, so at the moment I am not considering that as an option but it may change down the line.

Robert, how much more do you get out of the w/m? have ever tried running straight water just to see how much lower the egts are?

No, I have not tried it without the W/M, both dynos I used the W/M system, the first dyno in 08, I used a regular winshield washer fluid, I do not remember what was the concetration of alcohol in the washer fluid..what is neat about the W/M, is that you will spike high EGT's at the begining of the run then egt's will come down so quick after 3- 5 sec. but if I ever dyno my car again, I should give it a try without the W/M to see if there is a difference.

Dont know if I lost swirl or not. But I recently installed a ported head with rc5 and its a big difference May be I will put my 764's in and dyno and compair to last years dyno run.

Nice numbers I would guess my jetta close to that give or take 10hp.lol

Why are all you guys using such small nozzles? I'm using 12mm and R520's and I'm still underfueled :(
