Anyone have a Malone Dynamic EGR tune by itself, without any of the "stage" tunes? It seems like it's meant to be an add-on option, but I'm wondering if it alone would make sense to prolong the life of my DPF. I suppose it'd be better (than stock) for the engine, too...?

Isn't that basically the ECO tune?

Why wouldn't you just get a stage one or ECO tune in the first place?

Just drove 400+ miles and didn't get to hand calculate mpg because I was late and already had enough fuel, but...

The car said I averaged only around 35 mpg. Outside temps were mid 20's F and had a 15 mph crosswind, headwind for part of it. My speed probably averaged high 70's mph.

Coolant temp was normal, didn't move, but my heater would noticably warm up/cool down with higher/lower rpm, respectively.

So maybe not the best day to test mpg, but I remember it being better last winter with EGR on. I'm keeping it off for now, though, because of the intercooler icing thing; trying to prevent it from happening. Lower grille is covered.

I did just get my timing belt replaced. Could that cause worse mpg with the CJAA? I see on other engines that can happen without proper adjustment.

One weird thing I noticed the next day was two regens close together. I thought I let it finish the first time, heard the fans and saw higher idle rmp, so drove around til it finished. But then it did started again maybe 20 miles and a few stops later. I hope it's regening right in the cold.

Did some searching after posting the above. I probably should have used a top winter front in those conditions, at that speed.

In my (anecdotal) experience, the winter fronts are overrated.

Multiple winters with sustained -40 temps and never had an issue until the thermostat started to go, at nearly 400k kms.
