Just replaced my drivers side door lock module and im having 2 very stupid problems.

1. With one turn of the key, all the windows go down as if i held the key in the unlock position. Does not do the opposite when locking.

2. I cant open the door from the inside when its locked. The lock knob will pop up, but the door refuses to open. I have to RElock the doors, then unlock them (with the inside button) before i am permitted to leave.

Is this thing faulty or is this something i can fix?

not sure about 1, that may be a CCM thing but I didn't have any such issues.

for 2, since I recently had one of these apart, the latch unlocking part is a mechanical lever with a goofy thing that swings up and so on when you pull the lever... if yours isn't doing what it's supposed to, it's a module issue. unless you didn't seat the cable in the door handle part after you hook the hook of the cable to the door pull. check that it's seated in the groove and the clip has caught the lip of the handle garnish.

where did you get this module? it sounds like a faulty part.

Sounds like a eBay module to me.
Guilty as charged.
Honestly, what did I want for $30? I think I'll fix the old one and put it back in.
I had a laundry list of codes that were reset by the dealer and when you mess with the body computer sometimes you wind up with weird stuff. Thought I would make sure before having a knee-jerk reaction.
For everyone's future information, this is the seller's listing for the item:
EBAY
Do the smart thing and pay the price for quality parts:
ECS TUNING

So I'm buying the genuine VW modules from ECStuning for both front doors, but the rear ones are pricey even there. Is there any reason I shouldn't buy the OEM non-genuine ones for the rear, given that they don't involve keys? Over the last 4 years all my modules have failed, I'm not looking forward to replacing them.

Do 1 at a time as funds permit.
You could try aftermarket if you want.
The 2 engine temp sensors I bought have acted flakey after a while.
