I got a "light out" light on the dash this afternoon. All lights worked fine, but I noticed the Driver mirror turn signal lamp very dim. It seems that all but a few led's are not working. After driving 10 miles, the dash light went out, but the mirror light is still dim.

Do the LED's burn out on these? They are still working, but just a bit on the end.

Judging by the pics someone just posted of the door to car wiring, I'll take a guess that it is that. LED's won't burn out in that application.

Yes they do DIM before dying. Since I knew that leds don't ''burn'', I also thought it was a wire problem but 18 months ago after reading many posts, I wasn't convinced so took mirrors apart and the voltage was perfect at the terminal.
Bought 2 new LED lens from dealer (approx $30 each) and VOILÀ .

Well it seems I have the same problem. Drivers side turn signal on mirror is out on my '09 JSW TDI, only 2 years old.

Kind of upset when I find NOTHING about replacing it in the Owner's Manual.

Does anyone have tips on replacement? Or is it just follow the directions over on vortex?

Maybe there's a short in the wiring harness in the door jam. It wouldn't surprise me if this was the case. Seems strange that they'd just burn out though without any indication of altered voltage.

To avoid this problem in the future, I'm going to stop signaling. Not like many people use their indicators anyways... haha

Same problem on my 09. Took it to the Stealership and it was a $370.00 wiring repair with a part charged out.

I apologize for not coming back with my solution:
Stohlman VW, Tyson Corner, VA - warranty replacement $0 parts $0 labor. Got it done w/ my 20,000 mile freebie.
