Driver\'s door won\'t open in cold

Hello all been below freezing in Atlanta for the last week and this seems to have affected the ability for the driver's (and occasionally passenger's) not to open first thing in the morning, 6:30ish. Never experienced any problem with the rear doors and that make for a strange climb into the driver's seat, especially with a full cup of coffee! Any ideas?

Re: Driver\'s door won\'t open in cold

I've had the same problem with my '99 A3. Replacing the latch assembly inside the door corrects it for good. I'm sure the dealer will try to lube it up first, but that may not solve the problem. Mine was fixed under warrantee, so I don't know how much it will cost. -- Just make sure they redo the vapour barrier between the door skin and the inside of the door.
