Drive-in?

Hi all,

My wife and I have been doing some thinking and figured it would be pretty cool if a whole bunch of TDI's showed up at a drive-in theatre on Saturday night. Upon doing a little research the closest drive-in theatre is in Mendon, which is about 40 miles away (west).

I realize there are many activities planned but thought I would ask if anyone else is interested in checking out a flick. Like I said a couple dozen TDI's rolling into the theatre would be kinda cool

. Apparently this is one of the best drive-ins in the states with respect to nostalgic ambience, etc. (of course the sound is modern with AM & FM reception)

I'm actually going to the Mendon drive-in this weekend coming up. I'll let you know how it is.

15 years ago there was a drive in about 500 yards from the Fest hotel... two screens and double features on both.

I remember seeing Poltergeist there when I was 7...

i'll have to take a ride over there some evening as well to get the lay of the land, so to speak - sounds like it could be a good time!

I'm looking forward to hearing back from you guys since you are in the area. Ditto on the pics. I think it will turn out to be a great time if a bunch of us show up and take up one or two (or more) of the rows.

Between the camping, drive-in & F1 racing (as well as other events and meeting all of you, of course) I think this fest will be a GREAT time.

We plan to get there plenty early enough, and have camera in hand, anyway, since this event is actually a doggie school "Field Trip" with car safety lecture and all!

What's the scoop on the drive-in? Did you get some pics?

Anyone else interested in the idea of a TDI trip to the drive-in for the Saturday night? Let's get a bunch together and make it an "unofficial" outing.

I totally forgot the camera...

But it was a cool place. You pay $20 per carload and get the choice between two screens. Each shows two movies back to back. First movie is at 8:40.

There's a well stocked snack bar with hot and cold food and clean bathrooms.

There really wasn't much to take a picture of anyway.

The highlight was the half car visible in the picture from their website.

If there are any other specific questions I'll be happy to answer them if I can...

Hi,

Looks interesting. I think my interest will depend on what's showing that evening. I'll have my daughter with me. As much as I'd like to see a good Man-Killin' flick, I'll have to wait and see what else may be showing.
