What kind of monitoring software and or in car monitoring devices does anyone use to monitor your regions? I have a 2015 TDI beetle convertible and live in WI. So I want to make sure I am allowing the car to regen when needed being that its getting cold outside. Is there also a way to monitor soot loading of the DPF?

It interfaces with the display. Loads more info without a dongle. Hardwired (plug inbetween harness)
Sorry, it's a 11 JSW (mkVI). They are available mkVII i'm pretty sure.

Not available on IPhone, but a cheap used android would work pretty well. It does use a OBDII dongle to talk to the car and your phone. This is about the cheapest way to do this also. About $300 for the Polar FIS tool above vs about $20-$40 for the VAGDPF tool and dongle (depending on which dongle you buy). Your choice.

I don't think the Polar FIS for the Mk7 G/GSW has been well-received, I don't know if this applies to the 2015 NB. I remember complaints about the interface / display of information.

When it works its awsome, but needs turned off to scan, smog etc. I'm also in the non op group right now as it was turned off and I havent messed with it due to up coming bi annual smog

I just mean the Mk6 interface had far fewer complaints than Mk7, at least for G/GSW.

Can you fail smog with a PolarFIS? I don't see why or how they would do that, since it doesn't modify anything emissions related, it just shows info?

If Im not mistaken, I believe the program interrupts the OBD11 when the test is run somehow if left "on".
The polar has been non op. since not wanting to restore from the last biannual smog 2 years ago, i havent really messed with it. Its been non op since. I probably need to just fiddle with reinstalling, just havent.
