So I finally got a hiccup after 111k miles on my 6 speed. The dpf particulate filter pressure sensor A. Help me “check” this sensor… ;)

Good news is the extended warranty. Mine has not had the 2B performed and was purchased from a dealer. I’m hoping they don’t check the Elsa status or should I request it? Seems from my research I should let them fix it now. Then do the 2b down the road.

Bad they don’t have a loaner vehicle. Possibly will call again about the loaner.

Has your car had the 2a (partial, or no DPF replacement due to low miles) remediation performed? The evidence points to overheat due to electrical current flow, not any exhaust flow. I don't believe the DPF is compromised and warrants immediate replacement. That would mean that the 2b (DPF replacement) might still not be needed. *

The loaner or substitute transportation is included as part of the dieselgate settlement. It has to be provided during the dieselgate remediation. The sensor replacement might not be one the the items specifically included in the 2a or 2b parts kit and therefore might not entitle you to substitute transportation if that is the only work at this time.

However, if the dealership requests (or insists) that they perform the 'dieselgate' 2b at the same time as the sensor replacement, I'd accept.

*late (06 Sept) edit: Is it just coincidence that idParts posted this on the same day as this thread was initiated?
idParts' believes the heat source is leaking exhaust gas from a crack in the rigid tubing or the sensor.

That’s interesting timing for sure. I could definitely believe that from them. My car is 2a currently. They did not have an available loaner. They said they would cover $35 a day for a rental. Which is half base price for the rental. Smh. Of course they said if vw approves the warranty work. I quickly brought up the different aspects of the litigation and settlement. The room went quiet, I was pleasant, just firm. As their verbiage equates to attempts at weasling out of warranty repairs. Here’s hoping for the best. The same dealership upon receipt of my cpo delivery from flagstaff. They denied warranty on the sensors in the windshield. Due to supposed aftermarket windshield. I bought it cpo(certified preowned) from a vw dealer. Smh. @Lug_Nut
