2012 Golf Wagon TDI
My DPF Light has been on for the past few months. The car runs great.
Recently had EGT Sensor Bank 1 replaced.
I plugged in my VCDS (recent purchase) and followed the instructions from
The DPF light will turn off for 15 min but will sadly return.
Any suggestions or direction would be appreciated.
Well you are certainly way more adept than me with VCDS! Some great tips I learned from your video.
So....what is missing is the actual code being thrown, I believe a lot of different codes can trigger the DPF light, but maybe not. I have never had it come on with my car (2013 JSW TDI)
With my car I was getting the generic MIL light, which I could shut off (via Dash Command) but it would come back in about 20 to 80 miles. I forget which actual code it was throwing, but it did not point directly to the DPF
Since it was under the extended emissions warranty I took it in and they replaced the DPF, said it was "clogged".
The technoboffins here told me it was far more likely it was cracked, not clogged; the car had about 68,000 miles on it at the time.
The thing is this all happened about 4,000 miles after I got the emissions mod so to this day I wonder if they didn't connect something back up correctly and it caused the DPF to crack. Just pure speculation but maybe a cracked DPF is your problem?
In any event best of luck and let us know how it turns out. Sorry I could not be of more help
