Hi all,
Recently my DPF light came on and was wondering what triggered it since reading the VagCom data doesn't reveal anything out of the ordinary.
Can anybody give me an idea as to why the light is on by seeing the link bellow?

At min 4:52 in the video I have Particle Filter Diff. Pressure of 3 mbar. Is that the sought out value? If yes, what are the normal values. If no, what are the remedies to it, or what channel should I be looking at ?

if you run a full auto scan, what does it say?

go ahead and cut and paste the results here (from the log file if you save the scan)

(go advanced, select the text, and hit the code button
)

Code:
LIKE THIS
any errors logged in the engine controller?

When I first plugged the VagCom I had an error that once deleted it has never appeared back. See bellow:
Now I have absolutely no errors and don't know how to activate a regen (driving or standing) or how to delete that DPF light.

you also may want to look at this.

the basic settings screens reveal more if you press the on/off/next, and let it run for a bit. you can log and start to record while it runs the basic settings process. some of them increase throttle a bit and make lights blink and stuff, so don't be worried.

no need to run a manual regen, that looks good.

( I have some company coming, so may be delayed...)

I would be tempted to just drive for a while.

your car is running the active regenerations, may be a glitch from power, and will reset on its own after it runs another regeneration.

run those advance measuring blocks every couple days and watch the calculated soot and requested regens go up, and then down after the next active regeneration.

meerschm , I actualy did press once on the on/off/next at the EGR section (5:05 in the clip) and the Glow plug light started flashing and the engine started picking up RPM's so I got frightened and stopped all.

I did go on the highway and had like 300 km of pure straightness but the DPF light is still on.

I will try next time to let it run to see what happends next.

Thanks for the advice.

What do these advance measuring values look like now?

Requested Regenerations
Miles since regeneration
Soot Load(g) Calculated

Check the wires! I had a number of issues and all were related to wires broken (probably chewed on by mice or some other similar animal).

Already did and nothing is out of the ordinary.
The good news is that the light has gone off and all is OK now but I have noticed the following:
1. On a highway trip of ~120km with the car only on fifth gear, 120km/h @ 2350 RPMS the light was on always.
2. On the road back with the car only on sixth gear, 120km/h @ 2050 RPMS the light vanished at the end of the trip.
3. The car was always doing the regen in the city (I could hear the fans and RPMS to ~1000) but the DPF light never went off.
Will post a new video with the new values as soon as I get the chance.

Lower RPM will create less Backpressure, if it is clogging.
Maybe with the city driving you were never getting a full regen in.

Maybe that is the case, as I see @ 2:02 in the youtube clip on Group 105 the car had requested 2 Regenerations.

I found out (and discussed in the page on the other site I linked to)

The requested regeneration number does not count how many times something has requested a regen.

It really is a kind of counter for the need for an active regen. The chart above shows this value over about an hour of driving.

I watch this on my PF03, as well as having logged it over time.

the requested regenerations number goes from 0, 1 or 2 after an active regen, and as soon as it hits 5, pretty soon an active regeneration of the DPF will happen, (if it other wise can)

For the OP, it may be that the problem was that the DeSOX regen never got the chance to complete, and caused the DPF lamp to light.

this is the extra long regen (takes up to 20 minutes) after a regular dpf regen.

the long drive let it finish, which then let the light go out.

Not sure what exactly tracks the SOX level, except some internal model. there may be some value you can get to in VCDS which would verify this, but it is not obvious what it is.

not like VW has published the details of how this thing works.

http://www.natef.org/NATEF/media/NATEFMedia/VW%20Files/2-0-TDI-SSP.pdf has some good top level descriptions of how things work, but not to the detail which let you see how far along all the emissions control cycles are.
