I completely agree with you that this is due to damage to the filter. However, if I drive 25-30 thousand miles after cleaning the EGR cooler, I think I’ll come to terms with the soot in the pipe:)
in 30 thousand I’m ready to spend half a day cleaning the cooler
I doubt you will get 25-30k from one DPF cleaning.

We'll watch. When I bought the car I already had soot in the pipe at the back, not much, but there was soot. I drove 18,000 before I got the light. And then the problem was initially in the unscrewed tube to the differential pressure sensor, and I drove for about 1000 more with the light on 0401. Then I got 2002. Accordingly, regeneration did not take place. When I cleaned the cooler it was not very dirty, I would say there was a little soot on the walls inside in the tubes.

Hey man,

Thanks for this! I need to switch out my DPF too and was looking for a list of parts needed aside from the actual pipe assembly. Quick question for you - I’m changing out the EGR too (got codes p0401 and p2002) - will I need any additional hardware for that? Also, do I need to change the cat or anything or can those stay original?
Thanks in advance!
