Hello, I have a 2012 VW golf with 107k on the clock, I had issues about 2 months ago with the car going into limp mode, once i had this diagnosed i found out it was the EGR that was failing, i then found out it would be £550 to replace, i was informed that a EGR delete and stage one map would be the better option for £300 so went ahead with this as i thought more power and no issues how could this not be the better option. However ever since then my dpf has been on and off. I managed to get it off by regening the first time and then after a week it came back on and wouldnt go away after trying to regen, i then took it for a forced regen and it worked fine for about 2 weeks. I am now back in the same situation with the car in limp mode. I am thinking the only option i really now have is to get a DPF delete from the same guy who did the EGR which will cost me £350. I am just concerned for the implications of the dpf delete for engine life. Just want some other opinions on my situation please.
Much appreciated.
