Does the A3 TDI suffer from heater core failures like VW?

I have looked around but don't see a widespread issue here mentioned with regard to failed heater cores. But it seems as if it should since the Passat TDI has the same basic engine etc.
I have a 2012 TDI A3 and am wondering if I need to flush the coolant to see if there is a problem before its too late. Has anyone had a plugged heater core?
In case you don't know about the VW problem it usually shows up with cold air on the passenger side and warm air only on the driver when the heater is on.
Thoughts?
