Does anybody have any thoughts on the Bosio DLC800 nozzle for the BEW in terms of power and mileage?

I have a set on BEW bodies. Haven't got my tuner to play around with them too much so I can't tell you where the limits are but with a VNT17 they seem to match very well.

Read all about it....

http://www.dbwllc.net/product/dlc-800-100-130hp-pd-engines/

Flow Data: +42% over Stock Flow (vs the 100hp Bosch DSLA 150P 1362 nozzle)

Supports Power Outputs from: 100-170hp (with supporting modifications)
ULSD Rated Nozzle – 5 year unlimited mileage warranty1
Variable Staged Flow settings; Custom are available at no charge2

Flow Settings:
We suggest using the original flow setting, this is ideal for most applications
Custom Flow settings are available, but are set on a case by case basis.

– All prices include: PD Injector Overhaul with Mounting and Balancing
– Works perfectly with Stock and Tuned Engine Control Computers
– Lower Turbo Inlet Temperatures
– Includes OEM seals
– Greater efficiency due to faster fuel air mixing in the Bowl
– Faster Fuel delivery providing more time to efficiently burn fuel
– DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) Coated needle
– 3-4 fold increase in nozzle life
– Faster cycling low friction needle
– 10%+ greater precision in flow control
– Tighter tolerances, less internal leakage
– Tighter internal tolerances than OEM by up to 50%
– Atomically perfect DLC coated sliding surfaces
– Optimized hole geometry for improved atomization and dispersion
– Hardened wear surfaces
– More power than the OEM parts with less pump displacement volume
– More torque than OEM parts
– Improved economy by up to and in some cases greater than 10%

Typical gains in fuel economy with no other mods 4-6mpg increase and a net 10hp gain on a 100% stock motor.

Don't have the 800s, but 1043's easily maxed out my vnt-17 with very safe egt and put down 183 HP on the dyno. Also have stage 2 cam and SBC stg2 clutch. FE went up about 3-4 mpg on the highway...hard to keep my foot out of it though.

If you have anything bigger than the stock turbo, may as well get the 1043s if you're putting the money into the injectors. Be sure the injectors are healthy first too. Check group 13 and group 23 measurements in vcds.

I've read DBW's page and spoken with him as well. Wanted to get some actual users input on MPG. My setup is 2006 bug with BEW and DSG trans with 43k miles. All stock except for Malone stage 1.0 dynamic EGR tune. Torsion value was 2.7 from factory. After timing belt replacement, I set it to +0.5 as per DBW (and others). It's mileage just plain ole sucks no matter what I do. On VCDS, everything looks perfect. My best is 41.6 but averages about 40.

1043's on the the DSG clutch... Not too sure about that, and that would be my biggest concern.

The DLC 800 outflows the PD150 nozzle, just to put the potential in perspective.

DLC 800 + a tune, you are north of 150HP in no time flat with everything else remaining stock.

The key to the fuel economy improvement is the faster delivery they have over the stock nozzle. This provides a natural timing advance but with the ECU pulling fuel to keep the car (stock) at or close to the 105hp range, fuel economy goes up. The improvement is simply the result of an ideal injection window for initial delivery and more time to burn the fuel. This is also why EGT's drop, more fuel is being converted into mechanical energy to drive the piston.

On a manual transmission I can say that 6 MPG gains are pretty much guaranteed, on the DSG closer to 4 give or take.

Fuel economy with the DSG and DLC 800 typically falls in the 44-47mpg range.

Actually according to my tune file, it is a stage 1.5 I have with P0128 fix and Dyn EGR so that should put me at 130whp/239wtq according to Malone's table.
So...where will the DLC 800 land me with power??

Have you seen any difference on mileage?
