I actually see this process. They come by freighter to Port. Aransas Tx the windmills are off loaded at a huge staging area where a dozen or so specially made trailers and diesel trucks are parked to haul them when ready. Once loaded they drive through Aransas Pass. I call it Aransas Passhole. then south down Hwy 35 to the Coastal plains. They haul heavy equipment including large tracked cranes to install them . so they have to build a road to the site in the middle of a cotton field . I believe they make the road out of large wooden mats consistent with the oil industry when they set up a drilling rig, which they truck all this in by Semi Of course before this happens they excavate a huge hole in the ground and pour a huge concrete foundation which they bolt the base in place. These windmills are massive so it takes considerable planning and resources to set one up. It takes about six to eight trips per windmill to transport by Semi. So Im thinking now they probably burn closer to 40-50 thousand gallons of diesel to transport and install one windmill. Im so glad were saving the planet with windmills !
