Hi all,
After starting the process on April 29th...I am finally done...returned my 2012 Jetta TDI 226,000 km today to VW. Took the buyback option as I had already bought a 2015 Jetta TDI Highline.
Took all of 10 minutes...They checked the odometer reading...Had to start the car...remove my plates...was handed my cheque (Just over $14,000) and off to the bank I went.

And Yes...I left the rusty old stealies and snows on!!

Good luck to the rest still waiting...

Glad to hear it! Our appointment is coming up this coming Tuesday. RP agent phoned this morning to confirm it/remind us. We will pick up our new 2017 Golf Sportwagen Trendline, 5-sp manual, with Connectivity + package, at the same time. We chose the trade-in option.

I'm going to do the winter tire/steelies swap this weekend. The winters are pretty much done with 5 full seasons under them, but the summers on the alloys only have about 20k km. I'll either sell the tires or give them to our son for his car, and keep the alloys as winter wheels on the new wagon.

A weeeeee bit off topic.....just got a pic of my 2017 GSW and it has a stupid block heater plug hanging out of the grill, yuk. I much liked the spring loaded cover on my Jetta.

Question, is there a better solution for mounting this cord on a GSW? Redirects appreciated.

Returned to VW: 2015 Passat Highline DSG EarlyLease Termination
Morning gents... Finally got it !!! Hallelujah !!... Offer letter email came in late afternoon yesterday ... Couple of questions regarding the last page, would it be okay to have your spouse sign as a witness ? The clause about Robert Bosch, does this tells we are excluding ourselves from any kind of benefit from Bosch ? I will upload the documents tonight and send them back. It's an " early lease termination "... I know not many people here have completed this process, but any advice or tips would be appreciated ...
Thanks in advance ..

I witnessed for my wife (it's her TDI), and it didn't cause any problems. Mind you in Quebec, women legally are bound to keep their maiden names so our last names are different, which perhaps didn't trigger an alarm...

I am personally not, since my deal is completed at this point. But, it doesn't take a crystal ball to see that if one sizable country in Europe gets their hands on similar to US compensation, not even a company of VW size might survive it ... not without a monstrous bailout. We are talking millions of vehicles on the European roads .... VW thinks they are out of the dieselgate woods, yet the opposite seems to be rather true.

Are you fearful the "well" will run dry?
Per section 7 (pg.68) of the settlement agreement (Ont Supreme Court of Justice File #CV-15-537029-00CP), $250M has been set aside for "Initial Funding" in a Trust Account... independent of what happens in the EU.
As you may know, entity affecting eligible claimants in Canada is VW Group Canada Inc. (VWGC) - not Europe.

Yes, and your point is? I was asking, I am not.

Point is... well is not dry @ $250M for Canada.
(Blue text, black default text... it's still $250M for initial funding YGM)
Not everyone can follow 300+ pages of commentary, nor track forum comment history from a smartphone screen.
Some of you veteran members can be real a-holes pretending to be OGs when in reality...
Have a nice day

Thanks for sharing. Peep them alloys tho...
Makes sense for trade-in, but if doing a straight buy back, why keep them? (Assuming most own a second set with winters, this is not Quebec after all)

So somebody did follow up last night and called my wife. From what that guy was saying the problem with the validation of our offer is that we have to pay the reminder of our loan first? Does that make any sense? You would think that if it was the case instructions to pay out the loan would have been part of the offer or did I miss that part?
Going to the bank today I guess...
Update: after a few additional phone calls/emails our ofer was finally validated and we got our appointment for the return/trade pick up for the 10th Jul. we are moving to BC on the 13 so it was cutting it close but I guess everything worked out in the end!

Thanks!! :p

I just tend to voice my opinion publicly, not thru childish messages.
Like I said, I've been around here since 2001 and rarely do I see someone writing in other colors other than default just because it's convenient to them...

Anybody kept 2015 model and still waiting for cheuqe?
We decided to keep it and went ahead with modification back in March ,
forward to settlement process everything went smooth until the first payout , we have hard time getting first cheque send out we got approved on May 23 and since then nothing,
Calling is totally useless we have been told that cheque has been processed on May 28 and last week find out that wasn't the truth, nothing has been processed, and getting past to manager is almost impossible.

Finaly picked a trade-in date for sometime in September, so the countdown is on for me now.
I haven't ordered a car yet. Will see how it goes when '18s are finally released.

For those who chose trade, and handed the car in but the new car is not in, how did the $ portion for the trade work? Do they hold the cheque, or is the full amount paid out?

Not sure if you are aware of this: the second payment comes when you've completed stage 2 of the modification. This will probably be sometime in 2018.
If you haven't received the first payment, then definitely get on the phone or start emailing. Frustrating , but it will come eventually...
Good luck..

Calls are useless as always you have to go thru wall of unknown people who sent you to specialist who has no clue why I didn't get the first payment, I would like to email but do not where to start ,
