Hey sorry i would totally have given you mine from 09. It is already long gone on July 10th, the timing was off.Anyone in the GTA returning their TDI? As I need the rubber cover for the high beam bulb for my Jetta. Apparently 2009 to 2014 Golf/Jetta fits.
Thanks!
As I understood, they need roughly 20 days to prepare, thus you can't book an appointment for the time slot in 20 days, right? Our appointment is this Saturday, July 22, which we booked about one and half months ago.
Why? Others have been saying the Buyback with trade-in and Buyback should get the same amount at the end!Just for fun, I submitted claims for trade in and straight-buyback in case I had a moment of weakness and wanted to buy another VW.
The trade in offer came in $1000 less than the buyback offer, which wipes out any tax advantage. So I guess I'll be doing the buyback in a few days.
I hope I actually get the $20 xxx as long as I don't go over the 2000 km since my call, which I am being very careful about.
Yep. I must be very close to a mileage break point. Why? Others have been saying the Buyback with trade-in and Buyback should get the same amount at the end!
Nope. We don't have strong consumer protection laws, the kind with teeth like the US does.Is there a Bosch settlement agreement in Canada? If so, where do we go to apply?

There's something working through the courts, but not a lot of public info on it yet....Nope. We don't have strong consumer protection laws, the kind with teeth like the US does.
You might want to re phrase this statement as in " We don't have any consumer protection laws in Canada."Nope. We don't have strong consumer protection laws, the kind with teeth like the US does.
Mercedes just issued a recall on their diesels....Mercedes diesel incoming.

Anyways, another piece of useful information to those trying to claim a GST/HST refund, I got a letter from the CRA today saying I was denied. Reason:
"All or some of the goods and services included in the rebate application are subject to GST/HST and are therefore not refundable"
Don't quite understand what that means but I'm going to call them with my claim number and see what they say.
Last night I received my tax reimbursement cheque (PST) from the BC Government... better then getting nothing at all but I would certainly like the GST back as well.Maybe contact your MP about this too. This is such a unique situation and there's probably no provision in the tax code for repayment. It will be easy for CRA to deny rebates. We're probably going to need some media attention at some point to get a refund.
Just wanted to let you know I recuperated the PST portion of the tax paid on my original purchase...First I've heard of it but I'd like to know more!
Believe I said all along, check with the provinces since the Federales won't help you.... I think NS has something similar to BC as well.Just wanted to let you know I recuperated the PST portion of the tax paid on my original purchase...
Thanks a lot for the info.Just an FYI to any BC owners that participated in a buy back. I successfully recuperated the tax paid on the vehicle from the BC Government. Keep in mind there are restrictions as to the length of time from the original purchase date you can claim. If I recall correctly it is 3 years so mostly 2014 owners will benefit but take a look anyhow.

Provinces with HST are probably boned. Thankfully BC got rid of it!
4 years. I'm just going thru the BC process now and was asked for verification ofJust an FYI to any BC owners that participated in a buy back. Thanks...I think you're hooped Luscar. HST. The Feds don't want to give it up.
They've spent it already ... and then some.
Experience Based Refund (EBR), you can apply for a rebate as soon as the policy/contract has expired by time. Rebates are based on the amount you originally paid for the Policy/Contract, up to a maximum claim amount of $2,000. Criteria for the GPR/EBR claim include:
- Original plan holder must still be the registered owner of the vehicle.
- No mechanical or other benefit claims were made during the entire term.
- GPR/EBR claim must be received in the allotted time frame.

In theory yes. However, this did not happen for my surrender (turn-in) appt. The dealer manager was not happy as this occurred over several days with other appts that week, perhaps isolated to an incompetent specialist. You simply can NOT assume anything will be done for you in this process. I called in advance to confirm package (w/ cheque) arrival. Good luck everyone...a little thing I learned, the RP rep should call you 2 days ahead to make sure your package is there.
VW is Audi and Audi is VW - just make sure that your dealership location is the Audi one and the rep there takes care of everything.Has anyone here completed a Trade-In but picked up an Audi instead a VW?
I understand that Audi gets a list from VW of all those who are doing trade-in's and they also get a list of amounts. But wondering if there is anything extra or special that must be done when dealing with two separate buildings. (providing VW and Audi are not at the same location)
Thats the thing....the Audi dealership was not listed in the list of dealerships when submitting the claim on the portal. Called RicerPoint and the Audi dealership and both said that I should choose the VW location where I am turning it into and that the Audi dealership which wasnt listed will know the details. When I was called to verify my mileage, the dude also confirmed that is the case....VW is Audi and Audi is VW - just make sure that your dealership location is the Audi one and the rep there takes care of everything.
