Sold - 2012 TDI Highline Manual
Ive had the exact same bullsh6t until someone last week said that for some reason my verso ownership is not correct. But ive had green checkmarks since day 2. This is soooo anoying. Now they sent an email to request that they reset the document so that I can upload it. ***.
Weird that they told you the reason why it was rejected/denied.
They told me that my letter of offer was drafted on the 9th but rejected on the 15th and couldnt tell me the reason as its a different department that does these up...and all they could see/tell me is its status.
Looks like RicePoint has their sh*t together...
You'd think they make this process smoother to retain customers....they're just making it more frustrating for those who are already frustrated.

Fried Rice sure are taking their time - I applied and uploaded on Freaky Friday, check marks on the 10th, fake email today, and still waiting for my offer letter.
Frustrating to see so many appointments made by folks that have only recently applied.

They are either working overtime or processing claims from the US. :p
I got the silly useless email this morning as well...
I got my offer last Friday night, accepted this morning. Return booked on the next day available for Laval Volkswagen on June 19th.

Hopefully my e-Golf pre-order will line up. Vehicle is apparently already in Canada.

I know, drives me crazy as well. Now I'm staring at the eyeball from hell again, but at least its for the approval of my signed offer letter which I uploaded yesterday. We'll see how long that takes.

I submitted documents on 9th, offer letter today 23rd. Mine is a straight buyback, no loan.

If I return the signed offer to them today, what is the latest turn-in date I will be allowed to select? Say I wanted to select a day in June 2018, for example?

Good question. I was able to scroll forward a few months, but didn't look to see how far forward the calendar would go.

Also, when I log in I see my appointment and can cancel or reschedule it. So if you pick a day it is possible to change or push it forward if needed.

Took a week to get my signed offer letter approved. Earliest date in the Lower Mainland BC was June 6th for turn-in.

I am embarrassed to say that the letter I got states on page 5 or so, that I have 120 days from the time RP approves the signed documents/release.

So I will hang onto the contract until February or so.

Efficient Ricepoint today, thought I'd provide some balance - got my offer letter at 4pm, returned at 4:45 and then got notification to schedule my appointment at 7:45 - pretty good IMO. Earliest dealer appointment 19th June. Lease termination - not heard of many others.

Question for any other leasers - are we due a portion of our protection package $$$ back?

Hey Rich,

Great question, as I'm doing the early lease termination also. I got an email this morning asking for patience while they review the documents, that was at 9:30 am. This evening, around 8:59 pm get another email telling me they're reviewing my documents to determine my eligibility to participate in the 2.0l TDI program......does someone actually type and send these messages? Absolutely ridiculous ...

2011 Golf TDI Highline returned for refund
So Thanks to tobianogreg and Scratchy101

I see by the FB page BC residents can apply for a PST rebate for their returned TDI's.
Looking at Part E of this form, it appears the vehicle must have been returned within 30 &/or 180 days to be eligible for this rebate.
There is also this time limitation:
Here is the form for purchases made prior to March 2013:
http://www.sbr.gov.bc.ca/documents_library/forms/0318FILL.pdf

Note, it has the same time limitation of 4 years:

So in the words of the Soup ****, it appears there is "no tax rebate for you!" :(
We have links to Victoria BC tax dept where we can file for our tax rebate on the PST that was paid on our cars {How much will be based on the amount we are getting from VW...ie if the difference we paid for the car and what we got back is say $10,000...Then they would keep the tax needed to cover the difference.}
That is the impression I got when I spoke to Victoria this morning.
The person I spoke to said their department had just become aware of this 4 days ago and they are trying to decide if they can also refund for purchases made over 4 years ago.
I also want to recommend anyone who has a return date which will put them past the 4 year mark to consider changing the appointment date so that it falls within the 4 years...
I was encouraged to apply for a refund as well because by the time I have filed they said the law may have been changed...:)

I encourage everyone to file especially if you purchased your car more than 4 years from when you actually get a cheque from VW...

The more pressure on them asking why not can definitely help.
If anyone has access to Global or some other media outlet I would encourage talking to them...asap
And lets put a stop to the Soup ****:D
Good Luck Everyone

Remember the HST in BC? 2010 to April 2013. That's why pre2013 tax refunds get murky.

We need to find the hook that gets us a tax refund from the Feds too.

CRA Taxpayer Bill of Rights:

"12. You have the right to relief from penalties and interest under tax legislation because of extraordinary circumstances."

If nothing else...

With the 2015s, if someone elects to do the fix and then is unsatisfied with the car afterwards, what are his options? Is he stuck with it or can he then choose the buyback (before Sept. 2018 of course)?

What happens if he then sells it privately? Are all the rights and warranty transferred to the new owner?

Curious because I see a few 2015s being offered for sale privately.

There's a 2015 Highline Golf Wagon with 282kms being offered at $33k. I'm assuming this guy is trying to flip it for a quick profit. What would he have paid for it?

2015 Golf Sportwagons are going right now for $6500 off the sticker price all over Ontario right now.

The Trendline I have seen is $26,235 - 6500 = $19735 (+all the $$ from dealer)

Although by now most of them have deposits by people who are waiting for the buyback to happen.

Yes I have seen a couple 2015's with low K's selling privately for a rediculous price.

People trying to make a buck!

Haha...poor phone reps.....not their fault but then again...they do work for Rice which is sending useless emails for no reason....
I've been seeing green check marks for 16 days now...ready to snap after reading most people are flying through their processes.
I also received this useless message.
I've been stuck at step 15 for 18 days now.

Finally!

I finally received the offer for my 2013 Passat, i was desperated since it was more than 2 weeks with the green check.

May 1 : Submit info for my 2013 Passat and my 2014 Jetta
May 8 : Green check mark
May 23 : received offer for my Passat and uploaded signed offer
May 24 : Offer for my Passat is accepted and can schedule a date for the trade in.

I wonder if it takes longer for the Jetta because i have choosed june 2018 for the trade in or if it's because there's a VW credit involved.

How are you able to pick a date if you're still at step 15?
In the original setup when you upload your documents pretty sure there was a date picker for a tentative trade it date. I am not talking about picking a date once an offer letter is presented.
My parents picked the first date which was May 14th and I picked June 1st as I only expected our car to be available around that time.

Forgive me, I read through the form's but what would the reason for return be? I believe this tax refund would only apply to dealers or individual sales where the transaction was cancelled before 30 days? These forms are intended for business I dont believe they would fall under personal property relating to lawsuit? I obviously could be wrong but not sure how we could spin this into a tax refund.

Same boat here..... only difference is I have no intention of moving fast on this. My car is perfectly fine, and will have warranty until the end of next year.

I'm past the tipping point on what I owe versus what VW will give me - even if I put on another 100k km....

So I'm essentially driving for the cost of interest right now. No new car is going to do that. nor will a new car get me 40mpg without trying and cost less than $1/L to fill up.

Reason: vehicle does not meet emissions regulations to which it was originally certified.

I don't see anything on the form that indicates for business use only.

So, if i've received my buy back offer letter (just received) how long can i take before acting on the offer? June 2018?
Basically i’d like to drive the car as long as i can before turning it in. I realize putting more kms on the car will lower the offer (i’m not sure by how much though?)
I bought my Golf TDI for commuting, and it’s been ideal, and i love driving it. Can’t seem to find anything that compares, so figure i’d just keep it as long as i can. It's got 178,000kms on it.
Is anyone else thinking of this approach? Does it make any sense?

I'm thinking of doing the same with my 2014 Jetta with 146000kms. I haven't received my offer yet though, so I'm still waiting. The calculator had been disabled to let us know where the next decrease in $$ occurs. Before it went down though, I inputted 175000kms and it didn't decrease the $$.
