It seems to be worse here because all we're getting is "we're working on it"...I fear that you may be right about this going on for a while.Think we're going to have to chill cause this could go on for years.![]()
Let's be fair, you can't just update a website in real-time. Oh wait, yes you can....According to this they met yesterday.
Yes it is. It suggests to my cynical mind that whatever is being discussed is even more damaging to VW Canada. Delay until there is an approved "fix"? (Sorry but any trust in VW vaporized in a noxious haze.)That's pretty poor customer relations right there.
Echoes my thoughts exactly: it does not take more than a few seconds to update a website. The fact that they are rolling out responses this morning to tweets that came in yesterday would seem to indicate that they were holding back responses for one reason or another. I'm guessing nothing has been resolved, but if they have to keep progress confidential they can't tell us that.I'm also fearing for the worse now.
I had hoped VW would step forward and, indeed, mirror the US settlement. It wouldn't have taken them more than a few days to customize the settlement for Canada.
I suspect that VW corporate is doing all it can to avoid another 2,000 million dollar hit to their coffers.
It also shows a weakness in the Canadian consumer laws. VW knows this, and I believe is now taking advantage.
If there's no information before the end of day I will be making decision about our future vehicles, and VW will likely not appear on my wishlist.
Agreed. VW's loss is Subaru's gain.So looking at vw's twitter. The courts were updated yesterday. But since it's confidential we aren't going to hear a thing until a deal is reached. Complete BS. I'm done with VW 100% after this is sorted out.
On the other hand though, although you're probably right about VW, the class action lawyers must be putting up a fight and/or the judge is refusing to give consent to the "settlement". If they just caved, we would've all got the "hey guys, we're sorry about all this: you get a free snowbrush and a complimentary neutering of your car when we actually decide how we're going to mangle it for you.".This is not good. I think the only reason there would be such delays relative to the US settlement is that VW is trying to bend us over.
I don't think so they used past tense: "was provided on July 28th"Or their Twitter made a mistake and put 28 instead of 29..
Yep...there's a shiny Pure Red WRX or WRX STI in my future. I just have to get the wife past the objections to a large rear wingAgreed. VW's loss is Subaru's gain.
Also on one of their tweets they used the word "Yesterday."I don't think so they used past tense: "was provided on July 28th"
but I like how your brain worked that
Technically not the dealer's fault... or even VW Canada. Marching orders come from the fatherland.Ok.... So outside which Ontario VW dealer do we all want to meet and protest this weekend?![]()
Well, that will suck then for VW Canada, as they are the ones who are going to get it from usTechnically not the dealer's fault... or even VW Canada. Marching orders come from the fatherland.
Hmmm, me smells a bot at play. They must have some sort of script that just does auto-responses. Maybe its to give all the VW folks time to run away from angry Canadians.Lol, these replies are getting way too repetitive.

Yeah, but I can't make it to Germany this weekend.Technically not the dealer's fault... or even VW Canada. Marching orders come from the fatherland.
I don't think you can blame VW for this silence. So looking at vw's twitter. The courts were updated yesterday. But since it's confidential we aren't going to hear a thing until a deal is reached. Complete BS. I'm done with VW 100% after this is sorted out.
Lol. Well, you can see what software they're using anyway (Radian6).Hmmm, me smells a bot at play. They must have some sort of script that just does auto-responses. Maybe its to give all the VW folks time to run away from angry Canadians.
I don't think you can blame VW for this silence.
It is a court imposed ban on publication of info until a decision has been reached. VW is adhering to the law for once......
Haha, I love the reasonable sound of this along with the sarcastic "for once...".I don't think you can blame VW for this silence.
It is a court imposed ban on publication of info until a decision has been reached. VW is adhering to the law for once......
There's plenty of hours left in the day.The problem is that they set a date to update the public.
Eh, I haven't read all the tweets. Just trying to think of the possibilities. Maybe they handed in the paperwork yesterday and the formal update is today - no idea, not a lawyer and glad for it. ?Also on one of their tweets they used the word "Yesterday."
