...According to this they met yesterday.
Let's be fair, you can't just update a website in real-time. Oh wait, yes you can.

I'm actually laughing at myself over this. It's like standing in the rain waiting to see someone famous come out of the theater, only to find out they left by the back door an hour ago.

That's pretty poor customer relations right there.

I'm also fearing for the worse now.

I had hoped VW would step forward and, indeed, mirror the US settlement. It wouldn't have taken them more than a few days to customize the settlement for Canada.

I suspect that VW corporate is doing all it can to avoid another 2,000 million dollar hit to their coffers.

It also shows a weakness in the Canadian consumer laws. VW knows this, and I believe is now taking advantage.

If there's no information before the end of day I will be making decision about our future vehicles, and VW will likely not appear on my wishlist.

So looking at vw's twitter. The courts were updated yesterday. But since it's confidential we aren't going to hear a thing until a deal is reached. Complete BS. I'm done with VW 100% after this is sorted out.

Echoes my thoughts exactly: it does not take more than a few seconds to update a website. The fact that they are rolling out responses this morning to tweets that came in yesterday would seem to indicate that they were holding back responses for one reason or another. I'm guessing nothing has been resolved, but if they have to keep progress confidential they can't tell us that.

Agreed. VW's loss is Subaru's gain.

This is not good. I think the only reason there would be such delays relative to the US settlement is that VW is trying to bend us over.
On the other hand though, although you're probably right about VW, the class action lawyers must be putting up a fight and/or the judge is refusing to give consent to the "settlement". If they just caved, we would've all got the "hey guys, we're sorry about all this: you get a free snowbrush and a complimentary neutering of your car when we actually decide how we're going to mangle it for you.".

Or their Twitter made a mistake and put 28 instead of 29..
I don't think so they used past tense: "was provided on July 28th"

but I like how your brain worked that

I started tweeting to VWCanada as well instead of just VWCanadaTDI, and VWCanada TDI just responds with "Thanks for your patience" and removes VW Canada from the tweets. I've been patient for 10 months. Sick and tired of waiting with no info whatsoever....

I don't think you can blame VW for this silence.
It is a court imposed ban on publication of info until a decision has been reached. VW is adhering to the law for once......

Hmmm, me smells a bot at play. They must have some sort of script that just does auto-responses. Maybe its to give all the VW folks time to run away from angry Canadians.
Lol. Well, you can see what software they're using anyway (Radian6).

The problem is that they set a date to update the public. And here we are, no update.

Haha, I love the reasonable sound of this along with the sarcastic "for once...".

I am so damn pissed right now. Vw is evil to the core and holding me hostage in terms of me getting rid of my passat that i spent a huge sum of money on. If we were to mirror the USA deal it would have been a done deal today. I expect the worse what ever that is. Nothing, not even on the news or BNN business channel about VW and this criminal scandal being settled with us Canadians. If they screw us big time it would be time for us consumers to revolt against VW. Hurt them in their business selling cars here in Canada non violent of course by massive protesting at their dealerships to start. Anyone on board? because that is what I am going to do with or without anyone. (See my previous post on this thread) Canadians are too easy to take it up the butt. We need to grow some larger genitalia. Told you I am pissed right now. VW criminals be damned.

Also on one of their tweets they used the word "Yesterday."
Eh, I haven't read all the tweets. Just trying to think of the possibilities. Maybe they handed in the paperwork yesterday and the formal update is today - no idea, not a lawyer and glad for it. ?
