i have my 04 escape 25/30k, a 04 cayenne S at full complete with 100 deductible, a 95 chevy g30 1 ton work van on a commercial policy and 3 motorcycles, renters insurance on a 2200 a month booshie apartment, 2 storage units that also require renters, and a policy on my firearms and valuables that supersedes my renters.
grand total, $1,330ish annual.. that includes a 9 year flawless driving record, AAA, and a bunch of other discounts like high GPA and credit score bs.
i pay about $65 a month on the cayenne and about 28 a month on the escape. you can do the rest of the math, and that is for 2 drivers (me and wife)
and you know what pisses me off, its though progressive but since i did it in MD the provider group (erie) is not covered for colorado. SO now i have to shop around and sort this out by the 10th. oh well.. freaking hail damage!

for the cost of living in the middle of no where and maple syrup as fuel... hope you all up there in leaf world sure make some decent income...

Holy hell. I pay $1200 a year for full coverage on my jsw. $180 monthly for liability on my truck, renters, life, and full cov on my jsw. Better than what I paid 5 years ago. Back then I paid $280 monthly for liability, on a 90s car.....

Well. To be fair I paid a lawyer about 600 bucks to get me out of a bs negligent driving charge so you could factor that Into it.
I drove at 2mph over a small patch of grass after the split of asphalt on an exit ramp due to a crash ahead. Cop was all like mad and what not.
Case was dropped. Worth it!
Also I only carry comp and a deductible on the cayenne. Everything else is the lowest liability possible. I got a discount because of my liability and bond on my buisness.

When I read back... I guess I'm just lucky!
I do remeber the days of $140 a month on just lowest liability only but that was over o yearsago

We dropped our 2nd full time car this year since my wife hardly drives anymore and I work from home. Picked up my dad's Q5 to be the all-in-one vehicle since it can tow 4000 lbs.

Now don't get my started on my summer toys. The most expensive one gets about 26L/100K of diesel. Mind you it was built in 1948, weighs in at 22,000 lbs and holds 130 gallons (not liters) of fuel.

I have filled my '03 195 times since buying it in May 2009 at an average price of 111.63. Total kms driven 193473 at an average of 5.61 l/100km

Since buying this '03 Jetta in February 2011, I have filled it 466 times with a total of 19436 litres of fuel, costing $22307 for an average price of 114.7 and driven 382731 kms at an average of 5.08 l/100kms.
My previous '03 Jetta (bought in March 2007) I filled 201 times with a total of 8344 litres of fuel, costing $6888 for an average price of 82.5 and drove 160713 kms for an average of 5.19 l/100kms. Unfortunately, in Feb 2011, it was totaled in a winter accident along HWY 401

Averaging almost 40k a year for the previous 16 years it was nice to only drive my car that little. But I did ride my bike (bicycle) over a 1000kms last summer if that helps

Just drove by a fuel station where diesel was 144.9
Luckily I still have half a tank, as that would have been an all-time high for me. So far, the most I've ever paid is 141.9, back in March 2014.

Filled up last on 31-Dec at 133.6/L at Pioneer in Scarborough. Now it's around 138.9/L to 143.9/L at the cheaper stations here.

There’s a Flying J in my area. They used to be the cheapest diesel and now they are by far the most expensive. $156.9! I go to the local Rez and it was 122.9 yesterday or $111.9 if you don’t mind the pink stuff.

I know this is the Ontario forum, but just for comparison, out here on Vancouver Island (which is typically up to $.10/L than Metro Vancouver), diesel overtook RUG recently, currently sitting at $1.689 for the diesel. Given that we've been around $.20/L less than RUG for much of the last few years, shouldn't complain too much.

The Flying J near my house is now $1.879, however it is always a little pricier than most places... RUG there is $1.759. Thankfully for most of 2020 and 2021 diesel was normally 10-20 cents less than RUG.
Now my question is how much longer till it reaches $2.00/litre for RUG or diesel?

Looking at the current rising price trends, it will probably be close to $2.00/L by end of this year or same time next year...

If I didn’t commute so far I’d be riding my snowmobile to work everyday, it’s getting ridiculous. Reg diesel is 1.64 and the dyed is 1.56 here in Arthur. Starting to consider buying a cheap eco box to get me by while my Jetta is in the body shop until the summer.

Maybe its time with EV swap LOL. I do about 150kms a day. A gasser would put me into the ground considering I do roughly 1100km a week.

If I wore a tin foil hat I'd say that's almost what they want us to do, all go EV. However are country is vast and the climate is not EV all year round. I installed snows on a customers Audi e-tron and I was asking about the range etc. He said that he got 360km in the summer, but when winter came around it dropped to 170-200km per charge.

EV is good for city/short trip driving. Unless youre okay with charging every couple hundred KMs while youre on a road trip. Just doesnt seem reasonable right now especially with people who travel far for work.
