Filled up for 91 in Midland at the Mac's/Esso. Better than prices around Muskoka (driving to school). I added 250ml of the white power service.

That's the way to do it! Petro Canada .10 fuel savings card and the CIBC petro points mastercard for a total of .12 savings per litre.

I just filled up for 92.9. 89.9 is a great price. Did you stop in Barrie?

I saw 2.25 for diesel in the Orchard Park area. Works out to 83 cents a litre after exchange. ain't worth it

Eastern Ontario Diesel vs. Gas Prices for 2016

Hello All.
I just compiled my 2016 data for Diesel versus Gasoline prices... it was a great year to be driving a TDI.:D

Something that's very evident when you look at the chart is how stable Diesel price is, and how much Gasoline fluctuates, unlike those who drive gasoline powered cars (and who always complain when prices jump by $0.05 overnight) no need to chase the prices when they're stable for so long.
Total kms driven in 2016 was 40556
Total fuel bill was $1872
Average fuel economy for the year was approx. 5.1 l/100km
Approx. maintenance costs for the year was $1080, which includes 2 big ticket items of 4 new Michelin winter tires, and new pads and rotors front and rear.
If you want to see how 2016 compares to previous years...

Oh, how I wish.
It is really quite easy, I just have a notebook in the car and write down the price of Diesel and Gas when I fill-up, and my mileage at the time, and then Excel does the rest.

Still takes time and effort to spend it on something like this.
Since I can't control it, I couldn't care less what the prices are. Light comes on, I go to the nearest station after work and never look or care what the price is. Even if I did, all I would save is $2. My life is worth more than that $2/tank.

The pot calling the kettle black! How much time do you waste per day posting useless crap on the internet. Always pissing on other people's cornflakes.

If he wants to take a few minutes to track his fuel that is his choice. Personally, I found it quite interesting and was thankful he did it. Thanks TDIGAZ.

I agree... It can give you a good perspective on the diesel vs gas debate and whether a diesel is worth it or not... Or it can simply just be numbers that one can appreciate if they're interested in statistics...or it can just simply be useful or relevant info for some people

I like finding old receipts and seeing 1.279 or some such on them from 2014...paid 107.9 for Shell Nitro+ the other day, less than gas.

Peeing on cornflakes? You're not into that too, are you? #PEEOTUS :-D

89.9/L at Esso in Scarborough at Markham/Sheppard, has been at that price for a while now, easily 10 cents/L lower than any diesel station in the East end.

more like 20 cents, that's actually impressive it's still at that price... diesel is around 111.9 from what ive been seeing... now that's a discount, fill up 60 liters and save a good 13-14 bucks

Yes it still is 89.9/L, I filled up yesterday. The next lowest is 10 cents more, also at an Esso (Markham/Milner) less than 500 meters away from this Esso

Yea that's a great price, even 99.9 is good, all the gas stations in my area are around the 110.9 mark for diesel

Dang it! Looks like I jinxed it. It's up to 111.9/L on that Esso station today .

The Esso on Markham/Milner is still showing as 99.9/L on torontogasprices.com.

Eastern Ontario 2018 price summary

I always track my fuel info and at the same time I track the price of gasoline at the places I fill up with diesel.
Here's the comparison for 2018, majority of fill-ups in Eastern Ontario

As you can see, the price of diesel does not spike up and down like gas does.
Low and High for gasoline was 94.9 to 134.3 cents per litre
Low and High for diesel was 112.3 to 128.9 cents per litre
51 fill-ups, total 39354 km, total cost for fuel $2483
Average for the year has jumped by about 20 cents per litre compared to 2017, but as you can see from the chart it's still cost effective to be driving a TDI :)

I don't like playing devils advocate, but the cost effectiveness you speak of only takes into consideration the price of gas vs diesel and nothing else into account
