So found the sensor. I had bought off Amazon and replaced it. Now getting different check engine code "exhaust pressure sensor". So, I'm thinking the sensor is a cheapo no good. I see the part on kerma website with same part number. Myquestion, what about the other numbers/letters on the sensor...do they have to be the exact same also? Like I said, the part number is same, as in the bigger numbers on the sensor. Kerma has them for $90.

did you do the adaptation as mentioned in post #16?

if so send it back and order a part not form amazon.

I did do the adaptation . So yeah, will be sending back. Was just wondering if the rest of letters/numbers on the part had to be exactly like the one currently on car or as long as the part number is the same, the rest of the numbers/letters don't matter . I see the part selling for $90 on Kerma website. Dealer is like $140

the last letter is the rev, it shouldn't matter if its a couple letters higher than the one that came off.

Thanks. So got new sensor from Kerma. I see they put a label on top of original label on the sensor. The label they put has the oem part number on it. Not sure what to make about that. I put sensor on and now getting check engine code description "exhaust pressure differential pressure sensor". With the original that was on there I was getting the check engine code "dpf sensor regen frequency".
By the way, vcds is indicating its sensor 1 . So is this the sensor i just replaced..the one between dpf and engine, or the one up a bit, by the coolant bottle? Maybe they are both bad??

Oh, and now have a malfunction and chk engine cylinder #4 missing/misfire. Ughh. Can this be caused by sensor, too?

Ok , little more clarification. Before replacing sensor , I was getting " exhaust pressure sensor 1 malfunction". Now with new sensor from Kerma, what I'm getting now is the "particulate filter regeneration frequency" again. I'm just trying to gather if this tells me anything in regards to which of the two sensors is bad, or if they were both bad and need to replace them both.

I think - but am not positive - the sensor that generates the particulate filter regen frequency" error is the one I mention in Post # 7 - 3 inches from the coolant bottle towards the center of the engine. Can't miss it - you're staring right at it when you look down. Blow out the tubes to make sure nothing is clogging the lines.

I hope so. That would explain why I'm still getting that fault.l being that I replaced the other one already. I guess they were both bad. Thinking about swapping them and see what happens: I would anticipate that I would no longer get "diesel part filter regen" anymore and would instead get the "exhaust pressure differential sensor 1" .

and each time you change sensor or position you're doing adaptation.

each one is slightly off, so adaptation needs to be done each time it's swapped or replaced.

Hello. Just replaced today and still no fix. Drove for about 20 miles and then got the check engine light. So, that's both sensors new on there and still. Unless I did something wrong at adaptation, ..see log....ideas, suggestions? After adaptation, I did a dpf regeneration and noticed that the measured soot dropped to like -3 from 0.88. The calculated soot was about 0.08. One thing I will mention is that the regen was still going when I just pulled away and went for test drive. The vcds indicated "running" and glow plug was still flashing. You think not letting it finish might have caused an issue? It was running for well over 30 mins..almost an hour. The engine was at normal idle. I just thought it must of been done already.

Yes. I mean, I don't think it was actively in regen mode, just vcds showing "running"and glow plug flashing indicating it was still running. Like I said, after about 15 mins idle went back to normal. I just let it sit waiting for vcds to indicate "finish" or whatever it says upon completion.

Check in VCDS these values. It should be around 5-6g after a regen.

Ok, redid regen and this time it finished correctly. After regen,
Soot mass calculated is 0.15 g
Soot mass measured is -2.83 g

The above 24.2g and 24.18g is after going for drive and of course at the time the code is recorded . Thoughts, suggestions? Smog time is coming and noway its in condition of passing 😞

Yup. So, after driving for about 29 miles, measuring values are:
particle filterr soot mass calculated=5.69g
Particle filter soot mass measuredt=4.97g

This mean anything to anyone, please. Thanks

Just got the check engine light at 42 miles since last regen.
Particle filter difference pressure =277hpa
Particle filter soot mass measured =24.13g
Particle filter soot mass calculated =24.12g

Thoughts?

The DPF pressure sensors are bad or have soot inside the tubes or sensor them self's.

Try spraying can air inside the sensor's tubes and sensor themselves.

I had two new sensors in there. I blew air into one end of dpf sensor hose and and no resistance. Air came out of other end of dpf hose immediately and very fast.
