The MAF should not get dirty unless the air filter is not doing it's job or there's an air leak between the air filter and MAF.BigAndy said:I removed the MAF and examined it. First off, the screen on the air filter side was quite dirty and the tunnel was also far from clean. I think each time I change air filters now, I will use some MAF cleaner on this. I think this explains the slow degradation of power over the last few years, more so than clogged intakes and worn nozzles.
I inspect the MAF and it's electrical connection when changing the air filter. It hasn't looked like it needed cleaning yet... and I also have 10 years and 250K.BigAndy said:Perhaps cleaning the MAF annually is a bad plan?
