DFW GTG Fall 2010

I think that is a good idea. We can have enough cars show up to have a diesel class. I have been to one of these a few years ago with Robbin and had a pretty good time. I know the past president of the club, maybe still president, I don't know. I can ask him about a diesel class, maybe too late. If not I am sure they would be glad to have us there. Saw some cool old school bugs.

Dang, talk about lucking into something... I've just joined the forum and am trying to learn all I can about these cars. Would definitely love to meet some enthusiasts to see what is possible with these cars.

I have quite a few things going into my car in the next couple weeks. I will try to space it out so that I can make this. I'd like to see some "pretty" jetta's/golf's to start to get some ideas from. After I finish all the engine work, its time to start making this thing look better.

Ironically the deadline to enter your car in the contest was the day of the Passatworld GTG... Sorry about missing the passatworld GTG... I was a bit unconscious that day... A couple of medical issues...

My car is not worth entering in a contest so it looks like I am going fishing on the 6th.

I was just told today that I will be flying to Cleveland for some training for work on the 8th, but going early to see family. Looks like I'll have to shoot for the next one. I will be working in the shop the weekend before and after (almost all weekends to be truthful) if anyone wants to stop in. If there's enough interest I'll throw some burgers and dogs on the grill.

Alright, for those that will not be going to the Passatworld GTG for whatever reason, I will have a sub-GTG the following Saturday (11/13/10) at my shop in Haslet. Anyone is welcome. It is somewhat short notice, but please drop me a PM so that I can have a rough idea of the number of people incase we want to plan for food.

I will update the first post with contact information and address this evening.

We need to start trying to invoke a larger sense f involvement with GTG's in this region. The other regions are very busy with GTG's compared to us. Just a thought.

Depending on circumstances, I am ready for a transmission drain/refill. Being ready for a trans fluid change is an open invitation for me to pay someone to do it as I am not as limber as before. I can bring filter/gasket/fluid. offers?

I would also like to pull my valve cover inspect the camshaft (although M1 TDT has been in it for 40+K miles).

Car runs fine, just PM work.
