I did try that too Andy, was smooth in comparison, just never had a new tensioner do that before. Just unusual for litens tensioner. Genuine one anyway

I had a litens do that too. I don't know if their quality has dropped or what.

What's the country of manufacture of that tensioner?

These tensioners are spring actuated, so perhaps the spring is not sitting right inside. "Exercise" that tensioner some more and perhaps the weird feeling goes away.

I just did my 2015 GWS belt and remember the tensioner been made in Canada, I had no issues with it tho.

I agree, if you feel something weird in that movement, just exchange that part.
