Agree with dr p. The block heater cord was missing on mine. Dealer got me one after I took delivery. Had a few issues with getting the keyless entry system to work properly but it turned out to be operator error - nothing wrong with the car. If you are getting the Highline package it might be worth having them walk through that with you to make sure you get the technique right.

Mine didnt have the coolant heater cord as well, also didnt have the mdi ipod cord and for some reason came with a 5spd shift knob. Dealer got me a coolant cord but had to order the mdi and shifter.

***** I just want to put out a heads up to anyone who has the dealer put the plates on your new jetta for you that they do not screw the screws right into the paint on the trunk. I suggest everyone check theres and get shorter screws or cut them shorter. They screwed them into the paint on my car.

On the Golf, the rear plate mounts on the bumper cover, but there are no pre-drilled holes. My sales monkey installed my rear plate and just eyeballed it. It's pretty damn close, but not exactly centered.

Edit:

Duh! It just occurred to me: Pre-Delivery Inspection.

What kind of cord are we talking here? Is it supposed to be supplied with the car?

What kind of ttrouble did you have with the keyless entry system? Mine works fine.
Thanks

there is a special electrical cord that will connect from an extention cord and or outlet to your attachment point (beside the driver side fog light). It's black with a red cap on one end. Should be included with all TDI's but I think some dealers don't know what it is and are taking it out (and keeping it?).

They did this too with the MK4's and their solar trickle charger. Rarely gave it to you unless asked for but would gladly "sell" you one.

On the keyless entry, I kept grasping the handle while putting my thumb on the indentation to lock the door. For it to operate properly, the handle must be clear and only the indentation.

Question - original post talked of a coolant heater cord. I assumed this was the same as the block heater cord. Is there something else that is a coolant heater cord that I am missing?

before I accepted my 2010 I requested a bottle of oil for the trunk. I have seen others here that the dealer didnt remove the blocks in the suspension springs. and make sure the wheel lock key is in the trunk tool kit. and also our 2010 had a tow hook supplied that was suppose to be in the tool kit. It was used as a tiedown during shipping so mine was in the door pocket but another car I test drove didnt have it with the car.
