dumb question.. .but can't seem to figure it out. somehow the coding got wiped out on an ECU (2006 new beetle tdi DSG) and was at 000000. i thought the coding for DSG should be 0150038. i know manual is 0150031, auto 0140034. but vcds says 0150038 is out of range. anyone with a new beetle tdi with DSG know what the "coding" is set to?

so it is supposed to be 0150038.. i've screwed something up in the tune such that it's not accepting the proper coding 🧐

i figured it out... one thing i now have realized is the tune on the edc16 ecu's is specific to the transmission type. the coding still needs to be set right. but it's not like edc15 where the coding basically selects which maps to use within the tune file - and each ecu file has in it a entire mapset for each trans type and the coding essentially changes the offset of which mapset to use. i had initially thought in edc16 there were still maps for each trans within the tune file and the coding being set would on a case-case basis select which maps to use, but that is not the case... so the solution was to either build the tune from a dsg file, or copy in the maps that are different for the dsg - which i had done, but i had missed some eeprom/ecu specific maps for it that was causing problems...

Glad you figured it out. I was doing some CAN protocol research, ran across that page, and thought it might be helpful to you.
