Long time lurker first time poster. Hoping someone can give me a dealership recommendation for Phase 2 install in Georgia. I might even be willing to travel to nearby surrounding states (TN, AL, FL, SC all in play) for a competent shop.
My 2015 Passat TDI SEL is approaching the 11 years in service at about 80k miles. I bought as a certified pre-owned with Phase 1 done. From what I've read I should get Phase 2 done before the 11 years expires sometime next year. The car is located in middle-GA and I've had a hard time finding a dealership to trust it to.
The closest in Macon GA clearly doesn't want to do the job and NEVER has loaner car availability nor a way to schedule in advance to get it. For other issues they have wanted to charge a diagnostic fee for items clearly falling under the emmision warranty (DEF snowball and codes I provide from VCDS).
I do most work myself and have VCDS. So the only other dealership I've taken it to was Heritage Volkswagen in Union City GA. I chose this dealer from something I read on this or another forum about a service manager who was smart on TDIs and the emissions scandal. Unfortunately that manager had moved onto another shop and I can't remmber his name or which dealership he moved to. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I ended up using Heritage anyway for the DEF snowball under my hood at the injector and it was a nightmare. They spilled DEF all over the trunk getting onto back seat and seat belts and probably still corroding my frame as we speak. Its a long heinous story worthy of its own thread, but suffice to say I won't be going back there again except for my replacment seat if it ever becomes available.
Any recommendations or even definetly avoid xyz would be greatly appreciated.
