For the NMS I think h6 was for pre EA288 TDI, but I think our 15 also has an H5 from the factory.

Some thing of it as being loss in capacity, I consider it weight reduction for race car type things ;)

A follow up post. That VW battery was replaced last week. It lasted 6 years so it owed me nothing. It gave me no trouble until the temps dropped into the single digits. The battery was too low to start the car so I put if on the charger overnight. That charge lasted a week until it was too weak to start the car again. I charged the battery fully again and got the car started.

I took the car to a local mechanic and had him test the battery. It tested at 55% after I had charged it. Replacement time! So I had him drop in an Interstate size H6, because that's the brand he carries. It's all good now. :)Interstate Battery.jpg

Thanks for following up. 6 years is great for 115$.

There are just too many to list....
That Interstate will be TU in half the time. We gave up carrying those a while ago. Only still using batteries from the dealer.

I just pulled one from one of my Golfs that was from 2017. And it never failed to start the car, it was just slowing down.

Even my Fords get Motorcraft batteries... one of those is from 2014, still works fine, and that truck often sits for weeks on end.

Costco interstate batteries are also junk, my last one only lasted 2.6 years.

I got the free replacement, but now they prorate and would get a dealer battery again.

well being down here in Baja Mexico, I read the thread, but did not go check dealership prices as O'rielys had a 48 battery for roughly usd$150.00. 4 year warranty. My 2016 had a Bosch original in it. we have no cold winter days/nights at all. 50-60 degrees is a cold night in the winter. I have about 57,000 miles on the engine/car. I had just been working on installing a BT device to the car connect and it killed my battery so knew it is time to replace it as I could tell there was a slight difference in starting umf. and shortly will be doing a round trip to USA through the baja there and back and just not worth the problems if one has a bad battery in the middle of a desert.

2015 Passat SEL,
I come to find out my frequent replacement (sometimes under warranty) AutoZone unit, is a regular flood, none AGM. Was thinking about getting rid of it, and getting an AGM...

Now I'm thinking of going to dealer, due to this thread....
