Dealer cant diagnose -adblue light

2012 passat running great then..
Adblue light comes on. It took less than 1/2 gallon to fill. Neighborhood mechanic checked def injector, seems fine, but he could not get adblue to clear (hes a member here btw)
Took to dealer ..5 hours later they cant diagnose why light is on, cant reset it...
Any ideas?

DEF tank system needs replaced more than likely. Common and mine was done and replaced under warranty.

2012, 130k mileage...from what i read online? no longer under warranty

Any idea what the actual codes are? You are probably looking at something like this just from the symptoms.

Codes would really help. there is some kind of parts list that VW uses when replacing this stuff. It may contain all that is needed or not, I don't know.

I want to say this all started with a check engine light and 2049 code... i know it wasnt a def code, but i figured id throw some in anyway (fear of running out?) took about 3/4 of a gallon. check engine Light did not come on when restarted. 2 days later def light came on. Not in limp mode, no noticeable difference in driving..regular mechanic check injector, couldnt get light out, siggested dealer.

Car ran fine...threw a
P204900 reductant injector valve circuit high bank 1 unit 1

I know its not DEF code, but threw some Def in and code went away.

Today the def light came on, said no key detected and restart not possible in 200 miles.

Shop said it threw the following codes
P1950-00 radiator fan difficulty of movemeny, blocked.

P204900 Reductant injection valve circuit high bank 1 unit 1

U140 Terminal 30 open circuit

P068A00 ECM, PCM power relay deenergized performance to early.

My mechanic says it needs to go to dealer...

What would cause all this to happen at once?

I owe 7000 on car...its got 126k and is 11 yrs old...dealer says none of this is covered under "diesel gate"

It is a def code as that is what the "reductant" is. Their fix may just be a bandaid. Have to see if the code comes back.

I went through this same process. They reprogrammed. Replaced the rear nox sensor and the nox catalyst. Temporarily fixed the problem until cold weather came. Then I would occasionally get the 200 miles to "no start" warning. Usually when the temps were below 35 degrees and trips over 75 miles of non stop driving. It would randomly disappear. I added a Kerma tune over the summer. It will be interesting to see what happens when the temps go down again to see if it returns.

Recently had the adblue no start issue, topped off the DEF tank, took less than a quart, no change.
Towed to dealer, dealer replaced the DEF heater assembly under warranty, all good for now.
I have had several high dollar items replaced under the emissions warranty, HPFP, Turbo assembly, DEF heater.
This is a 2013 Passat with less than 70K miles, runs fantastic when something doesnt fail.
Water pump replaced due to leak, timing belt, tensioner and rollers replaced while replacing water pump.
We'll see what happens next.
