Sorry I missed this, but I am stuck in Branson, MO. I was forced at wife point to attend the Jim Stafford show.... and I LIKED it.

I also went to a British sports car show and got up close with a Rolls and sat in a Lotus. It took an a amazing amount of effort to get into and out of the lotus.

I'm planning on getting there around 9am, going to get a head start on tuning KCMikes 04 Passat. See you guys whenever you start showing up.

Hey Richard, 2.5 hours on a clutch change, wow! Thats way faster than me doing one on the ground, lol.
That was on the ground but I had a helper. Also Eric and his brother helped also by pulling the power steering line out of the way, turning the rotor to turn the axle and by asking annoying questions!! See the following thread. :D

No kidding tho, that was fast work. Clutch grips great. Now I just need to get a few more power mods to start getting my money's worth out of it!!

We made it to Red Roof Inn (eventually) last night. (more details on that expedition later...) We'll be by this morning around 10:45am

Had planned on putting in my short shifter yesterday but decided not to since I forgot my tools. Anyways, I did it this morning in about an hour and it is great. It is the Diesel Geek TTX shifter and is only $80. I highly recommend it if anyone is thinking about a short shifter. Wish I could have made it out today. Oh well.

Might make it to the next one Don't hold me to that

Thanks from me, Mikey! Your planning and preparation for the gtg are much appreciated. Even though Saturday was a slow day, I enjoyed visiting and learning. I'm looking forward to the next one.

I'm going to call the Judy Company and thank them also. I really think their business is about the best that could be found for our purposes. "Uncle Pat" is a neat guy and I like to see him there.

Not sure yet, my wife is the planner. I am usually just along for the ride... I'll let you know when I do. Know of any good diving spots? or, places I should not miss?

When I was there I didn;t get to do a whole lot of sight seeing, I went there to help with humanitarian efforts. I did get to spend a couple of days on Roatan Island on one of the trips though. Loved every minute of it, well except for the high humidity, lol. If memory serves me correctly I believe the south side of the island is better for diving/snorkeling, I stayed on the north side while I was there not knowing any different until the day I left.

well that all depends on how you like to live, There are some REALLY nice lofts they just built downtown.... or there are some nice houses in the suburbs lol. College hill and riverside is really nice if you like older homes, but yeah..... What kind of work do you do? The job market in wichita is pretty bad i think its like 17% unemployment right now.... so....

Well, I'm a stagehand right now, but I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Welfare. I am good with computers and know most of the lingo. Video editing, film, and any backstage production is cool. I am going to try and get in with the local union if possible.

My wife and I are going down this weekend to look at a bunch of houses. I was told by a few people to stay above Douglas. Here is a link to my map of possible housing:

Wichita Housing

Mikey,

There are lot of housing choices for a wide range of money. It all depends on you. If you have kids, then you are limited to few areas with better schools. The southern part of town is very industrial and grimy. South of Douglas may be too strict, I have been to few areas in South that are good like Derby and Rosehill. I have pretty much lived in Northeast (for 10 years) and moved to Northwest (for the last 7 years). There is this weird east/west divide in Wichita, which I never understood.

I have even come across real estate agents who are biased and push people to east or west side exclusively. If you need any guidance or help, feel free to contact me.

Suparag
will PM you my phone number.

Thanks dude,

I think we found a little bungalo on the west side on Sedgewick in the Delano district. We really like it and are just waiting on the application process. My wife and I went down last weekend and looked at about 15 different places. It really is peculiar how different the areas are and how close they are to eachother. I met up with XthechadX and we went to the Donut Whole. pretty cool place. I think I will fit in just fine.

We'll have to meet up and grab some coffee. Are you involved with the blitzrennsport.net?
