Yeah, I hope you all bring snacks, because 7 months is considered "digging in". I guess I should have put 4/10,11/10. I'll change it... Anything else I should put in there? I also made some fliers and posted them up at Vee Village downtown. If anyone wants the file to print out, send me a PM with your email, and I'll send it to you.

If anybody is looking for a TDI

I know this isn't typically the place to list this but since you all are doing a gtg in my back yard, I thought somebody around for the GTG might be interested. We are selling my wife's 2006 TDI. If anybody is interested I can meet up at the GTG for you to see it. Its Platinum grey, pkg 1 (heated seats, sunroof) manual, 88k miles. Looking for $11,900.

Its confirmed... I will not be at GTG. :(

I received deposit and will be doing a BM on a passant. Plus trans R&R for Torque converter. Also have a TB on a Gasser plus MrErlo is coming after the GTG for a clutch. YIKES!

Guy with the passant may drive over to the GTG in my car.

That's no good! no good at all! Too bad you can't just bring everything out to the shop and work there. You probably wouldn't get anything done though.

Oh and on Saturday I have to at work at 7, so we are going to need to wrap up any projects before 6. If you have to leave your car there and continue on Sunday that is fine, The shop is secure and alarmed. But I have to leave by 6:30 latest.

I am planning on installing some emergency brake cables and doing some VCDS work. I also want to hard wire my GPS into the fuse box, hard wire my power inverter and install in the trunk, install my Cold cathode lights for the trunk, and maybe paint my other two wheels. Anyone ever install window tint? I was planning on going to a shop and having it done, but if anyone has experience doing it, I would be happy to buy the materials and pay you to do it for me.

I hope not! If there are, they will be in the parking lot under the street lights till the sun comes up on Sunday.

I know you weren't being mean. I also appreciate the vote of confidence on the timing belt jobs ;).

The only belt job I remember going badly was for a member who has since sold his car, I remember he and Clark were working on it and they missed the hole in the IP when they set the static timing. We found the problem about 8pm and I was hoping to help them get it straightened out, but I had to leave to make it to my daughter's softball game to stay out of hot water with the wife . He ended up getting it towed to Vee Village to get it finished if I remember correctly.

That should no longer be an issue with anyone at the GTG's, we all learned a valuable lesson that day :p

Ya, thats the one, I was referring to. I wasn't being mean, but maybe I was poking you with a stick a little.
Trying to get you "riled up". Dont make Brian angry, you wouldn't like him when he's angry!

Just so everyone knows, Brian helps me out by doing timing belts for me when I'm busy. He's one hell of a mechanic. Not "skeered" of anything!

I will need some guidance on my keyfob not working. If anyone is willing to lend a hand has to why it is not working. I would not mind some help. I think I narrowed it down to replacing the keyfob with a new on. But not quite sure either.

I plan on showing up before noon or sooner. I already got stuff to make cheese dip:D Blue corn chips and regular chips. Do I need to buy a bag of ice on the way up there? So we can have ice for the soda I am bringing?

Yep, I was there too(swampholley's car) and I also learned how sensitive the slightest change in pump pulley adjustment is when I did my first solo Mk4 TB job a few months later. Fortunately we found the hole and the car has been running fine since.

Mike from my personal knowledge window tint better left for the pros. Somethings are left for the pros.
I agree. It seems simple enough when you watch them do it, but I still think it's better left to the pros.

Hey AJ, ice would be great. If anyone wants to bring a cooler that would great too. I think we might have some stuff around the shop, but I haven't been out there in a while, so I'm not sure.

I had planned to spend most of today and tomorrow at the GTG but my father is in the hospital in Tulsa, so I am going down there. I will drop by for a few minutes, I need to pick up a couple of things people are bringing me to the GTG.

I know this is last minute, but Scott and I didn't plan out anywhere to sleep tonight. We'll be leaving Omaha around 2pm to meet up with Richard for the G60/VR6 a little after 6pm.

Anyone staying in a hotel that you recommend? Or does anyone have a suggestion about another place we can crash?

Feel free to call,

Well, I just got to work. Today was weird... it was just me and clark all day, Brian came out for a while then matt and Josh showed up for a bit. Golf driver ended up showing up at the bitter end and helped me clean up as I rushed off to work. I got a lot done on my car today, but I was worried that everyone forgot about us. It felt like a SUnday.

let me know for sure if you are planning on coming out tomorrow or not. If no one wants come out, I won't come out either. ANd, if no one has anything major planned, lets push the start time to 10 if you are all OK with it.

The tranny is going back in now, should be done in about 45 mins.

MrErlo and MrScottdi will definitely be there tomorrow. We're meeting Ben there to get Stage 2 chip done. As long as there's a new clutch and flywheel in there we might as well put some ft-lbs into it.

We'll be replacing the IP return lines also, but that's 10 mins of work. Nothing major at all, so 10am would work great.

Anyone got a recommendation where we should stay? Best plan going is sleeping in the Golf...

Done. 2.5hrs, not sure if that's a record but it's got to be close.

Thanks to CoolAirVW (Richard) for another excellent G60/VR6 install. He's done the work in both my 2002 Jetta and my 2003 Golf, and both were fantastic. Should I ever need another set installed, I'll be headed back down to KC again.

Thanks for the recommendation Mikey, see you tomorrow.

I'm planning on getting there around 9am, going to get a head start on tuning KCMikes 04 Passat. See you guys whenever you start showing up.

Hey Richard, 2.5 hours on a clutch change, wow! Thats way faster than me doing one on the ground, lol.
