We do go karting every year at the Detroit Auto Show GTG in January and it's an absolute blast!

Well, given the lack of facilities in the Metro area, this looks pretty nice relatively speaking.

I may have to stop by to or from the Annapolis GTG to check it out

I'd be interested... But it wouldn't hurt my feelings to keep the original place. Although there is a Rams Head Tavern is Jessup that's not far from the karting place

No need to be sorry. My lack of interest is due to my 6'-5" body, which doesn't fit in those contraptions. I'd be interested in seeing the place, just not driving a cart.

I have a shop in Stafford VA would be willing to host a GTG when it warms up. Cuz's TDI Werks 4000sf shop 2 lifts. We can fire up the grille's etc. What do think. Check out shop FB page. I will try to make this GTG

Let me know when you do this! Haven't gone to a GTG yet and one in VA would be great.

Any interest in a Saturday or Sunday GTG in the DC/Balto area?

We have not had one for quite a while. Many of us have new rides. It would be good to share a lunch & talk TDIs. Besides, I want to see VeeDubs new ride. I know he wants to show it off.

Proposed is:

When: Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 for lunch.

Time: 1 PM for lunch.

Where: Proposal to meet at Rams Head Tavern, Crownsville, MD (see link below). Easy commute from most areas. Big parking low and a a moderately quiet road.

Updates & changes on date, time, venue will be posted depending upon input and interest.

2/1/15 tentative head count looks to be about 12+

I'm a maybe. I haven't even left the local area during my 20,000 miles of Mk6 ownership. This can be a mini-road trip to get some highway miles. I'll firm my plan once I know the weather won't be crap.

Looks like Saturday may be shaping up for ice and snow. I don't have a problem with driving to Annapolis in the snow, but ice is another story. I guess we'll have to keep an eye on the weather!

Actually it looks like the day will start as snow (1 inch) and change over to rain...

But yes, as you said, we really need to keep a close eye on the weather.

I put the Snowtires on yesterday......

I have not done mine this year. But I haven't needed them except once when they would have made it easier to go around a Tundra 4x4 going up a hill that lost control. He started fish tailing and I could see it coming! It caused me to lose a little speed so it made more difficult, but I made it up!
